I have always thought that Greg Cosell is one of the best analysts out there. I remember him saying about Alex Smith "He can't throw a 5 yard out."

The over the top hate on Trey after that preseason game is absolutely pathetic.

Now i even more root for this kid. Eff em lombardi and company. Thats disgusting

I thought some of his comments crossed journalistic professionalism. Marc Adams posted a good article about it. I also think what Steve Young discusses has merit. I understand because of the draft capital spent there are quite a few impatient people, however, I will continue to trust the folks in the locker room and organization until they say otherwise. My two cents for what it's worth.

he has above average mobility, he isn't a statue, but he also isn't mobile enough to design into a gameplan and make plays for it. IMO, he moves well enough to create time and opportunity when a play breaks down but doesn't have the agility, elusiveness, or quickness to have a designed run game around. I don't think I saw him beat a defender to the edge once on a designed run play.

Meh, he's a lot more mobile than Jimmy. With a stronger arm and taller.

Yet not one GM in the league would take Lance over Jimmy G.

KS heard all the chatter, his response:

"It just goes with the territory," Shanahan said, via NBC Sports. "It goes with it for quarterbacks. It goes with it for anybody who's a high draft pick but especially a quarterback.

"Trey is extremely smart and very socially aware," Shanahan said. "He knows how the world works. So he does his best, which I think he does a damn good job of, of trying to block that out and focus on getting better, and I think that's what he's done so far."

it's part of the process.. there is always noise outside the bldg, as a player the only comments that matter are from within the bldg

Bold Prediction: Trey Lance is traded before the deadline. It's difficult to paint an optimistic picture of Trey Lance and his future in San Francisco. Brock Purdy took the job from him on the back of eight starts, despite 259 picks in draft stock separating them before they each entered the NFL in their respective drafts.

In his preseason debut against the Raiders, Lance looked hesitant and indecisive, in addition to his propensity for turnover-worthy plays. As soon as you considered it may be his supporting cast letting him down with backups in the game, Sam Darnold comes in and immediately drops a dime in the hands of his intended receiver for a big gain. At this point, Darnold looks like the better backup, which makes Lance trade bait.

The problem with waiting until the deadline is we lose Allen. I say we act now before cutdown.

I stand by the idea that there is zero logic in trading Trey Lance.

Yes I would say the decision was made in 2021. And not by Lynch.
