Lance has a top 5 ceiling which is why they went the route they did.

Sorry to sidetrack things by bringing up Lance.

Just take the L. Stop feeling the need to work Stafford and Darnold into every discussion.

I am willing to bet you have more posts about him than I do.

You wanted both of those guys over Lance. Things worked out just the way I wanted.

Say false things over and over again and eventually they become true.

That is the only throw i see he has trouble with when there is no pressure. not sure why..should be easy.. but who knows what jimmy is seeing.. could be trying to get the ball over the Edge rusher..who knows why. I just noticed the trends with that play and hope Kyle stops with those calls

Why would you expect Hinicke to do anything.. not even a starter. Jimmy was the Top FA QB, we had to overpay beause we needed a QB bad. it is what it is

I disagree this is the only throw, but whatever.

I expect a guy making $27M to make every single throw he's asked to make…we overpaid at the bringing of his contract with his GTD cash. There's no pt to paying him $27M this yr, he's not worth that.
no point in paying him, yet he's still here. (might have jinxed myself here)

If you can't see that the kid has got talent out the yazoo, then there's something wrong with you.

You're obviously correct that we don't know how well it's going to go, but the situation is perfect for him, coaches, weapons, run game, defense.

Couple that with the kid's obvious work ethic and widely reported mental acumen and that's where the confidence comes from.

Get yourself on board.

Fair enough man, to be fair everything has been in shorts, we'll see when the pads come on, and again when the live bullets are firing.

I do think it's important to remember that it's not just Trey we are placing our faith in, it's the version of our team we can employ with him.

I still can't work out how you successfully defend our run game, whilst accounting for Trey keeping it and the play action game.

Rookies generally struggle with complexity and advanced reads.

Our running game will scare teams out of most of their complexity and Kyle's going to scheme up some really easy reads.

i do agree he is overpaid but his contract is so we can move on at anytime without it affecting our cap space so its a pay as you go situation.

Why i think KS and JL are going to start the year with Lance is on the bench ( and i agree with the move) is the fact that he is still on the team. I dont think JG will end the year as the starter unless we are playing really well and also there is the injury component because once we move to Lance we cant go back

I mean when the season starts, it's not pay as you go though...his contract is GTD for 2021 once week 1 starts.

We will see how TC goes, but if Lance looks like he's further a long then most in here think (overall it sounds like he's more ready then some want to acknowledge) I wouldn't be shocked if they ask Jimmy to take a pay cut. You can't have a backup QB making $27M in a cap strapped year. Jimmy might start week 1 but if they plan on getting Lance legit starts this yr, then you gotta see if you can free up money.

Personelly I don't think they will be able to trade Jimmy for anything meaningful...I would rather have the known value in the cash.

We will see though!

thats my point Thats why Jimmy G will start the year. I think they release him next year and we will have ton of cash to spend and shore up some depth.

ANd again i dont think it would be a mistake to start Lance we will see in TC but if i had to place a bet as long a swe are playoff bound i dont think Lance starts outside an injury but i do think he will get a lot more playing time as season goes on especially in 3rd and short and red zone situations

We haven't seen the guy play a meaningful game in two years. At least wait until his first preseason game to start the hype machine. This is ridiculous.

I would not be surprised if Trey's first PS game is 56 YDS passing with 83 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD with an interception.

They would have much more cash if they asked him to take a pay cut though...hell they could use that money on upgrading at DB/WR/EDGE or help give Warner an extension.

If they don't think Jimmy is the full year starter then he shouldn't be making $27M. I'd rather not play Lance at all vs giving him some RZ packages that will most likely be him running around...if you're gonna play him let him get legit reps being a QB.
I'm surprised to see that Trey has the most money bet on him to be offensive rookie of the year. I say this because I don't think he'll start and unless JG goes down he may not play much. Even if he becomes the starter after 8 games, he'll need to really play well to win that award. Maybe it's because a lot of people have faith in Kyle's system and his ability to coach him up.

Why would he have less passing yards? Why would he have an INT? you're making it sound like he can't play the QB position or he's some Lamar Jackson type QB. I just re-watched every single pass play he had in 2019 and he most certainly is not Lamar Jackson as far as QB play goes. He's calling protections, he's going thru reads, he knows where to go with the ball based on pre-snap reads, and yes he's big strong with a cannon arm that can extend plays all the same.

I mean his last "meaningful" football game was not 2 yrs ago...it was the National championship game back in Jan 2020 in a wind storm.
