After the Raiders game, I was like man..ya know? But after seeing this..I mean I saw a little bit of The Force as Young calls it lol. His instincts, dialed in. I say we start him against the Chargers

Kudos to Trey man. That was awesome to see him redeem himself after a rough start, especially to lead us to a win.
i was hoping Kyle would go for the TD and let Trey try to punch it in, but it's all good. I think Kyle wanted to give moody some confidence.
hell of a finish for Trey. I've been saying it, he needs to play loose and with "eff it". The plays are there for him, he just needs to stop being hesitant/timid.
Agree. I think so far, based on the games it seems like Sammy D is QB2. The stat line doesn't tell the story of how well he played. Awful penalties and drop tip interceptions ruined chunk plays he should've had. Now to be fair, Trey had a few of his chunk plays called back or dropped too.
Overall though, Sam has more NFL experience and is obviously very talented too. At the end of the day, do you trust Lance who doesn't have much NFL experience, to get critical wins? I don't think I'm there now.
I like Lance but from what I've seen so far, Sam has the edge now.
If you're looking at it from the coaches perspective, and doing what's best for the team to compete for a super bowl - starting the experienced guy who's decisive, accurate, and you know how to gameplan and how to get the most out of him. Lance is too unknown. He made great strides tonight but also a lot of mistakes . If I needed a few wins during my super bowl season, I'm not banking that on Trey right now.
i think Trey can still earn QB2, I just think he's currently behind slingin sammy.
great job though on those final two drives. Really impressivd

I would be really disappointed if he's cut or traded for peanuts. To me it's a tie for #2 and we have a penchant for needing backup QBs.

I'd like to see Trey against 1s and 2s - whatever they're playing next week. See if he reverts or continued getting better.
i love bell. Kid just needs to stop making those turnovers. Lol

I think a Trey with 5-7 games in a row is better than a current Darnold. Can we sustain some young guy mistakes? I think so as long he can keep them to a minimum. Trey also has yet to find his mobility which I think will come.

Trey's mobility would be a real positive if he can execute consistently in the pass game. He has good mobility it's just not good enough to lean on if we can't pass.

Thanks, too many fans don't understand looking at the situation from a another perspective, aka The head coach. All they think about is "Trey will be good if he plays a ton". Well unless everyone gets hurt, he isn't going to play a ton. If someone is hurt, you hope Purdy is only out for a game or so, not a season. So you have to look at it like who's the best option to win you some critical games while your main guy comes back. Lance finally had two good drives, great im happy for him, but he also has a ton of bad plays tonight. We don't know what to expect from him. We have tons of film on Sam to know what situations to keep him out of and what situations he does really well in - if I'm a coach, I can gameplan and work with that. Especially since he's been accurate & decisive, when he's had time. He hasn't turned the ball over (where it's his fault) In preseason or much in camp.
Trey showed promise tonight but hasn't shown nearly enough for a coach to feel comfortable if he is trying to win a championship and needs a few critical games won.

Darnold is not going to win you a championship. Trey if he can get it together can.
