I thought Trey was kinda dunzo after the Raiders game but hoped he could shake it off. Then that sh--ty press came. And then I was really rooting for Trey to get the winning drive on this game, happy with the turnout:). Keep it goin!
I think if Trey can play how he did tonight we wasted money on darnold.

I think darnold does not suffer from the tentativeness that Trey does and gets rid of the ball quicker. He operates more consistently than trey.

I do not think that it's worth the money we paid darnold though. He's not that much better at this point.

Trey showed on the last couple drives his upside.

If he can get rid of that tentativeness he'd be a starter and damn good player.

At this point he's not worth the money he's paid, he's not worth the 5th year option either. But since we already committed, if the coaches new Trey could play how he did tonight we wasted money on darnold.

That could have shored up other spots.
Great job, the kid showed a lot of heart how he responded after that interception.

Darnold is not great but he's a tossup with Trey performance-wise. Financially it makes more sense to keep Darnold and move on from Trey.
Financially both Trey's contract and Darold's contract are guaranteed. Were on the hook for Trey's contract irrespective of Darnold's contract.

Problem is you can't do anything with Trey this year but hurt yourself financially.

What I'm saying is there is not that big a difference if Trey plays how he played tonight. We could have avoided darnold this year, but Trey is staying regardless.

As long as they thought Trey was not going to go full tentative potatoes like he did last week and the first few drives this week they should have never brought in darnold.

We just flushing money down the toilet.l if that's the case. They are too close even if you think one is slightly better than the other.

Now I get it if they thought Trey plays like he did vs the raiders and the first couple series this game. He looked pitiful. The way he played those games are how you lose games like 3 to 9 because the defence is great. Basically how you lose the bears game.

If he can even play half the time as a tentative pumpkin and half the time like he did at the end of this game we should have never signed darnold.
It's bad enough moving off of Trey for peanuts and having him thrive elsewhere but imagine the reason you give to why you moved off him is Sam Darnold?
Had some really nice throws tonight. Overall still showed inconsistency though.

Needs to play more and needs to play with starters.

So wait, Covid shuts down his last season of college, then he gets redshirted in his rookie year to learn a complex offense, then makes 2 starts in 2022 and has his ankle broken, and then in his first game back from that injury he looks rusty, and you thought he was "dunzo"? What kind of logic is that?

People are really calling a 23 year old QB with 4 career starts a bust because his first preseason game back from a major injury didn't go well? Makes no sense.
