Brady won the Super Bowl last year (again!)

And outside of Brady, who this pure in the pocket passer that's crushing it in the league? There isn't anyone...the league is changing and has been for the past 5+ years. Young QBs having success have physical gifts, that help them maintain success until they can understand the nuances of playing QB. When you don't have those physical gifts all you have is the mental side, no rookie or young player is really ready for that. Just ask Josh Rosen who was deemed "pro-ready"

I'm also not talking about Stafford vs Jimmy, I'm saying throw him on a bad roster with bad coaches and see what he does (Lions was just an example) I bet the Jimmy truthers would change their tune a little.

But if you want to talk Stafford, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that believes Jimmy is better outside of a 49ers fan forum.

Stafford is average like Jimmy. Are you a Stafford Truther?

Jimmy isn't close to being the QB Stafford is.

IF Yuck can be a true ONE, we got the TE and the RB... Jimmy can be the next TROY AIKMAN..

now it's up to the coaches and management to run the team correctly..

It's irrelevant because Lance is going to beat him out for the job anyways.

LETS all hope that this will be the case instead of HANDING him the job.

Aiyuk is closer to Alvin Harper than Michael Irvin.

Are you kidding with this comparison? Alvin Harper was a decent WR who played opposite a superstar in Irvin and held his own. They also had a HOF QB throwing to them both. What superstar was opposite Aiyuk last year? Who was throwing him the ball for most of his rookie year? Don't sell Aiyuk short. He can dominate this year if the rest of the team stays healthy.

It was an Aiyuk comparison, not the dude playing opposite of him, or the dude throwing to him. But none of them are Trey, so let's get back to him.

This is where I'm at. I think if we were talking pre ACL healthy Jimmy though I'd be more inclined to wait it out.

For what it's worth I think that's where Kyle is, Trey wins the job by week 1 for me.

I can't believe I am going to say this since I grew up hating the 90s Cowboys BUT Mostert is not Emmitt Smith. Our offensive line is no where near as good as the Cowboy's offensive line in the 90s.. Also Aiyuk has the potential to be as good as Michael Irvin but he has a long ways.

Jimmy G becoming a Troy Aikman by having a such a superior talented supporting cast was a bad analogy. There was no salary cap back then so the rules have really changed in that you can't have an arms race of talent like Niners/Cowboys of the 90s.

I never posted that Mostert is Emmitt nor Yuck is Michael... my point here is that JIMMY will never be Dan Marino nor a QB that can puts up GREAT STATS..

JUST to help you understand, the point I'm making here is that GRAPPY will need the weapons that Aikman had in order to WIN.. His numbers will never get closed to Manning - Kelly - Brady - Marino and Mahomes.. IF Grappy can win 3 SBs like Troy did, then the hell w/the numbers !!

Put down the bong. Troy Aikman was overrated and had a deep squad. Garoppolo winning 3 SBs is an illusion, a fantasy. He made it to one because he had the best defense in the league and Raheem Mostert who recorded the greatest game from scrimmage in playoff history, even better than Smith. JG will soon be gone.

Actually, AIYUK is closer to JOHN TAYLOR. We don't compare 49ers to Cowgirls.

I agree. Another former 49er that AIYUK reminds me of is Gene Washington. In the words of George Allen, Washington was "slippery and fluid". Those two words describe AIYUK in my mind.

I didn't compare him to Irvin, I said IF he could be ONE... as in WR1.. and when I say the next Troy, I was pertaining to winning 3 Super Bowls because of the team we have now..
