You probably cant change a narrative destroying a bunch of dudes who will be selling insurance a few weeks from now.

Yeah Trey balled out late in the 4th QTR of a preseason game, that is what he was suppose to do.

Trey has no laurels to rest on, dude needs to get back in the film room working towards next week....and I am sure he is.

He was also throwing to similar caliber guys. It's not like he was throwing to Kittle and CMC while going against insurance agents.

Regardless - the video was inaccurate and looked like it was made by one of the Lance haters here.

If balls were dropped you would have a point....

If guys were not getting open....you would have a point....

Guys were open, guys caught the ball, guys got massive YAC....

I think it Is also really safe to say the two primary dudes that Trey was throwing to, are in fact going to be in the NFL a month from now.

Trey did good, Trey should have done well....he should have been the most talented dude on the field. seldom do we get to see top 3 picks in their 3rd season waylay insurance salesmen. It was good times.

It was likely the best 8 throw string of Trey Lances NFL career....but dont expect throws in that situation to turn around the narrative on Trey.... Trey needs work, he knows that.... I would bet he hits the field Monday morning with the same eagerness to prove himself that he did last Monday. I highly doubt he sees that as some sort of statement moment that you appear to.

The only way Trey can silence his critics is to live up to expectations. The expectation for the number 3 pick in the draft is franchise QB. The expectation is a multi pro-bowl filled career with deep playoff runs.

Can see you see how far away 8 throws in the preseason against a mix of dudes who will not be in the NFL next month is from the expectations?

Lol I never said any of this - Im not sure what you're going off on about? This is not being critical or some narrative. It's false reporting. It's clear ppl at ESPN didn't watch the snaps and probably read some Trey Lance hater on Twitter and spewed that garbage. I'm not sure what you're not getting here.
Trey should play the entire f**king game vs the Chargers after Brock gets a series or two. If he's not going to be QB1 these reps are priceless for him and he's already better than Darnold with just 3 starts vs 55 starts. To play Darnold or Allen is being dumb as f**k regarding your top 3 pick investment.

People willfully forgetting it has been Darnold who has been the bust not Trey with 55 starts of trash. If Trey played like Darnold over 55 starts I'd have been done with his ass too.

I feel about Darnold the way I did about Jimmy - I don't want to see him take another snap for the 49ers unless Brock and Trey go down to injury. Dumb ass Kyle passing on looking at Mahomes and his Kirk Cousins crush and now Darnold being here taking away reps from Trey when he's had 4 years of reps and suckage in real games and two teams didn't even want his ass. Not to mention apparently he always has had good numbers in the preseason so any decent play really means jack s**t w him.

Tell us how you really feel 🙂

I am not super excited about Sam, made some good plays but appears inconsistent, I don't feel The Force much lol.

It was nice to see Trey improve from the Raiders game. At times against the Broncos he was actually good. Not great but good. He still made plenty of bonehead plays like his intercept when he couldn't pass it over the screen and a couple of plays where he was late and dropping back too far only to get hit. With experience he might do some great plays but it looks like good is his limit so far. He needs to ditch the throws that tend to say he is not for the NFL sooner rather than later. I hope to see a big improvement against the Chargers where some of his throws will be great but I think the vast majority might be good with a smattering of bonehead plays. He will be a good No3 behind Darnold who is looking a lot more consistent and more prone to make good plays with the occasional great throw which is what you expect from a competent back up.

I agree with letting Trey play. Hope he does. At least 3 full quarters.

Yeah if you eventually have to end up trading Trey maybe next year, its possible the only Trade Bait footage you will have of him is in Preseason. So you got to show him off as much as you can.
The final pre season game, Kyle usually sits all his projected starters, correct? So whomever takes QB snaps, it pretty much devalues anything meaningful.

NFL changed PS and removed the 4th and final game a few years back
When there were 4 total games most teams treated the 3rd game as the full dress rehearsal and skipped the 4th

Now that there are 3 total games the starters usually play in the "final' game

KS has also gone on record saying he will play starters

Hahaha roasted.

JTO did mention a couple of good plays too, but he didn't talk about the Snead catch with the single high coverage that was a super tight window. I was wondering if he thought that was the right place to throw it.

That is a roast he 100% deserves

He didn't just say it was a bad play. He went on and on about how he has never seen anything like it and it was the worst thing ever.

Darnold completely outplayed Trey so far in the preseason IMO. I think in terms of turnover worthy plays Darnold had 0, while Trey had like 5 or 6.

At the end of the day what is important it is not what Trey needs, but rather what is good for the team. If Darnold is the frontrunner for the QB2 role he certainly should play vs Chargers.
