Certainly an improvement over last week....i think it's fair to say some of his throws are borderline getting close to disqualifying him from being able to play anytime soon, let alone for this organization, but that's just me. I think it's also important to acknowledge he got better and he's not surrounded by a bunch of all-pros out there in these situations so you gotta battle thru adversity up front, you gotta battle thru some drops down the field, you gotta battle thru some mental errors all over the place.
So what exactly does that say if he was the starter last year, has shown improvement since then, but still can't even throw well enough to play? Just gets more and more confusing to me. Nobody had a problem with him being the starter last year, but now he's improved to the point he can't play for the team? At least JTO is an expert on that.

Plenty of people had problem with him being the starter last year. He was handed the QB1 job, not winning it in a competition. Kyle recently in an interview admitted that Brock was the best QB in camp last season, but they had to go with Trey because of the investment the team made.
In fact, when Jimmy G restructured the contract to stay, a lot of the stories were about when Trey would get benched.

Fans maybe. Hell, he had higher odds to win MVP than any QB we've had since Garcia. Which coaches had a problem with it? Last I checked they were the ones that actually make the decisions. When we re-signed Jimmy, those stories were bound to be written. Had nothing to do with Trey.

He was a complete unknown. High ceiling low floor. Doesn't mean much unless he end up high.
Also, the team made the decision back in 2021, they may have made the wrong decision on the draft. Are you shock about this? The draft is a crapshoot.
The team definitely believe right now that Brock is the FQB over Trey. Trey isn't even being handed the QB2 job. He has to compete for it, which is a huge demotion from undisputed QB1.

He isn't as good as Brock. That isn't confusing, is it?

I only care that we give him the chance to develop and prove himself one way or another. We don't know what we have with Lance or Purdy. So give the kid as many reps as you can find him against the Chargers, please. The obsession with the trade and what we loss is understandable, but you have to balance the bone head wasted draft picks with the late round and free agent gems this staff has consistently found. Including the guy who most believe to be our franchise QB right now.
I am pretty sure that won't happen. Brock will get whatever number of snaps he needs, and then it will probably be split between Trey and Darnold.
Well that would be a mistake, but Kyle is El jefe so we have to trust him.

Agree, and Sam was pretty meh in the first half on Saturday.
Sam was far from Meh in that game from my perspective. He ran the offense as it was designed. I thought he did the same in week 1 but to a lesser degree. I didn't have high hopes for Sam coming into this whole ordeal but after watching him these past two weeks (especially Saturday) I have more hope in him than I ever anticipated myself having.
