Personally, I still feel the way I did a few days ago. I said this on my podcast last night but I think Darnold will be game-day QB2 as a guy to finish out a game if needed. However, if Brock were to suffer a serious injury, like Lance last year, then I think Lance is the guy. Basically, resume the development schedule of 2022. If Brock were to get injured late in the year, a la Jimmy, then I think Darnold is the guy.

Fact is, Lance needs a runway of games to take-off and get acclimated to the NFL. They had the potential for that last year if he started all year to get going by playoff time. That was the goal.

Yeah, that's a reasonable take. Idk if Kyle would do that but I think it makes sense. I think Kyle would want to see how darnold looks before doing that.

hopefully Lance would play well in that stretch because it'll be tough to keep the locker room if they stuck it out with Lance and he isn't playing well, just to get him experience.

Curious how this goes. Wonder if they trade him and keep Allen.

Sam Darnold has played well in camp, grabbing the opportunity behind Brock Purdy. He's earned it. No doubt, this will be a decision Trey Lance will take hard. SF will now explore options with him. Yet everyone who has been to camp said Trey has outplayed Darnold. Kyle giving up on a guy he traded 3 1st RD picks for without even giving him a chance and doing it for Sam Darnold of all QB's in next level insanity. And just plain stupidity. This news just completely ruined my day.
