for trey's sake, i hope not. he will for sure fail there - place is a s**tshow. Would be cool if WAS offers us a great package and he can partner with Bienamy - that would be great for Trey

so why is TL not practicing today? three possibilities come to mind:

1) he is injured
2) keeping him out because of a pending trade
3) TL is refusing to practice because of how events are unfolding

2 and 3.

He's not refusing to prax. This is common for guys on the block. No reason to have him out there getting an ankle rolled, and now you can't trade. I think they want to move him. No reason to give him reps either, if you are moving him.

Yeah. Think Jimmy during last year's camp. Off to the side doing calisthenics on his own.

I would say that's not correct. But if it's about the contract, where's the salary cap gurus? When does cap rollover happen? If they're hoping for that I can see it, but there's no more splash free agents out there.

I don't think this is salary cap based, I think Trey ended up in Kyles dog house like many players before and they've decided to cut loose Trey and move on.

now if we do keep him the benefit of this is that Trey will be the scout team QB and will get a plethora of reps each week working against the starting defense.

How would Trey end up in the dog house? You think maybe he whined about not getting reps or something?

With Kyle I think it's always about precision and execution of plays. Not about attitude.

we see it with WRs often, once he loses trust in a player it's hard to come back from that.

Lance was never going to get those reps here. He's got a long ways to go in terms of the work he needs to be a consistent NFL passer and he may never get there. Either way the 49ers have a SB window open and that doesn't go with a QB needing a lot of work. He needs to go someplace where they will be patient with him and let him go through the ups and downs he's going to need to develop.

Nor is Darnold and at least try to justify the asset mgmt you have spent if Purdy does get hurt. I get it, Purdy is the guy. Fine. Let's say that things don't go as planned and he s**ts the bed. Now what? You're back to square one with no plan at the most critical position in all of sports. Again, piss poor asset mangement. Everyone keeps referring to James Wiseman situation in GS.

Difference is, you have your franchise player locked up. We don't know with Purdy. It's too small of a sample size. Let's say we start off 0-4...*knocks on wood* trading Lance now or starting Darnold would be a complete debacle of the situation.

This. We likely pulled him off the field.

I guess he will always have the DEN preseason come from behind moment. Can you believe I was debating even this AM, on if this pick was a bust or not? We gave nearly as many ones as we got starts. Holy

Cant wait for all posters whining when Darnold f**ks up seeing Ghosts

This is what I think happened. Keep in mind, this is just my tinfoil hat theory. I'm just connecting the dots to everything that happened during the draft process.

Kyle wanted Mac Jones. Everyone and their Mom knew it. There were multiple reports that Adam Peters and other people in the front office loved Trey Lance. The fanbase was going ape s**t at the thought of drafting Mac Jones. The backlash was deafening. The ownership saw this and probably told Kyle to reconsider drafting Mac Jones. The Yorks coupled with Peters and others in the front office talked Kyle into open his mind to drafting Trey. He always talks about Trey as a person. He probably really liked Trey as a person and conceded to Peters and the rest on his ability as a player.

Basically just said the same thing.

'Take a chance on this kid and we won't tie your job security to it'

Have a hard time wrapping my mind around KS not taking his guy. KS openly talked about Josh Allen, and those kind of guys opening up what you can do. Taking the league over. I always thought he, as more a coach and not a GM, just squinted a saw his Allen or Mahomes, probably overestimated his ability to get that out of him.
You don't trade 3 first round draft picks and some change to not pick your guy. Lynch and Kyle don't seem like a relationship were one will over rule the other, especially in something as big as this. They had to all be on the same page. If they weren't then that is just poor all around.
read it wrong, thought Shanny was getting easy tape on TL last game to justify keeping him.... but no, it was original pump n dump forecast
Purdy will get figured out by defenses just like they did with Brady.... me not worried, trust BCB
I'd rather just have a stacked QB room.
Watch we trade him to the Eagles for a 5th rounder and the guy develops. I agree he wasn't going to get the reps here. Also agree they gave up on him way too early.

Whoa just saw the news. The Lance experiment is over already? I hope he's traded to the Raiders so I can finally be a Trey hater.

it would have to be Jed, only ownership could have forced that.

Kyle said Trey was much more raw then they expected, and was much harder to develop then they expected....that they would never take a player like that again. It is as close to calling the pick a mistake as we will likely ever get from the franchise. Most importantly, it seemed earnest, like Kyle signed off on that draft choice.

I think he signed off for sure. He would have revolted just like he did in Cleveland, and to a lesser extent Washington.

I don't think it was soo much he was forced, but its possible everyone was saying he should go after Lance and he went the Democracy approach.
