We don't properly assess value in our picks. They've still been really good overall.

When you can build a top 5 roster without properly assessing pick value it truly is something to behold.

Learn to let the draft come to you. That's what they need to work on more than anything else.

I hope it happens, will that make you happy.
wow, this all makes sense with the tone Peter King had in his interviews this week... that dude gets inside info on a lot of shizzle and it was almost as if he was somber about the whole TL debacle, he must have been tipped off about the trade

Would have been banned for saying this about Jimmy stans maybe.

God forbid people support any niners on a 49ers forum... rather than b*tch and moan about the non drafted player that coulda shoulda woulda. GTFO with that bullish. Jimmy, Trey, Brock, who cares, at least they arent getting DUIs or beating their girlfriends down the street from my house or pretending to be cats on social media lol. The hate the good people get is worse than the hate for the deviants.

Unless they think Sam Darnold could be a long term answer.... which is tough to bet on.

Imo they let leakage spread and didn't nip things in the butt. (Maybe on purpose)

But we should have played things off and kept Trey one more season until we knew for sure about Brock. See how team adjust to him this season, and how Brock adjusts back... see if he could stay healthy as well.

*played things off meaning having a good relationship with Trey.. nothing but positive s**t.. until we got a firm grip on the next branch. (Be it Brock or Trey or Sam)

Agree with all of this.

The crazy thing is, no one seems to want the QB's that Shanahan likes;

Jimmy G = No Trade Value
Trey Lance = No Trade Value
San Darnold = No Trade Value
Brock Purdy = Every team passed on him 7 times in the draft.

Not a good look for an offensive guru.

Meanwhile Pete Carroll can resurrect Geno Smith???

Coaching is our issue. We have an offensive minded coach and everyone is talking about our defense LOL

Quite the contrary. That seems to indicate the whole league believe Shanahan is the reason for whatever success QBs have with him.
Shanahan and Lynch better hope that the Purdy experiment at QB doesn't blow up in their faces. Jobs are definitely on the line if they trade Lance and he develops into something good.

Agreed. They've been fantastic overall, but this one particular move could have been catastrophic. Thank god they seemingly hit on Purdy.

Or so it seems. It's still only been 8 starts.

I disagree. I love the fact every other team passed on Purdy, not only shows how flawed evaluations can be, but same thing happened to the GOAT. Jimmy had no trade value based on a unique situation with timing and his surgery. Trey has trade value, it's just not high.
I think Trey will be traded for either two 3s or a conditional 2nd. Smokey, what do you think?

also, where the hell has Mayo been?

It is not correct to look at the trade value. Jimmy G's injury certainly had a significant negative impact to his trade value. So if you want to be fair, look at the contract Jimmy G received this offseason, and the contract Kirk Cousins received when he left Washington.

That's what I'm saying. Either way it's another black eye of a top 3 pick on their resume.

JImmy's contract was for less money than he was making in 2021.
