Coach doesn't have to explain a damn thing to ANYONE. I trust Shanahan way more than Grant Cohn, any beat writer, content creator or fan. Period.
I commend him for putting an end to all Trey Lance convos. Let's move on and have a great season!!
Go Niners!!!! 😎👍👍👍👍

Man, I was a big Lance supporter, but we torched two first round draft picks for this guy. Hasn't really gotten a fair shake but if you can't stay healthy, not sure it's unfair to be labeled a bust.

3 firsts. We used 3 firsts. Don't even try to argue. Who was our 1st round pick in '21? '22? '23??

Many fail.

why does everyone forget about the third round pick too. thats a valuable pick.

We used 3 first round picks and a third in 2023 draft to move up and select him.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP.
Not too many chances for a 20 year old who rarely played in college (our management knew and threw 3 first rounders and a 4th on him) to develop

he is younger than most QBs drafted 2023!
He is 23.
We dump him.

Cant believe this.

If it wasn't for the fact that he wasn't at practice today, I'd say there is a chance we still keep him, but him being absent tells me that its already in motion for him to leave.

Yep, sounds like they've been working towards it for a while. I for one will be putting more weight in what the media says moving forward, and less in what the FO says.

LAME ASS MANAGEMENT
STAND TO YOUR DECISIONS.
Answer the question about how you f**ked up 3 first rounders and the whole Lance situation.
My little ones have more pride than Lynch and Shanahan have

Do you think they would say anything other than the boring ass QB responses.

"we love Trey and he's been great he just doesn't have the experience and this is Brock's team so we want to give him an opportunity somewhere else to win the starting spot"

It's pointless of them to say anything until the pending trade goes through. That's how it always works.

The idea that he's hiding is petty b***hing. It's not like Shanahan won't be in front of the press again in the very near future. There will be an overload of opportunity for him to answer questions about Lance very soon.

They will hold a press conference as soon as Nick Bosa signs his extension so maybe only 85% of the questions will be about Trey.

It's 'pointless' to believe what they say. It's 'gutless' not to face the media, because of how big this QB drama has been.

Yep, it was a waste of picks but if they're convinced that he's still a couple years away from being able to play regularly in the NFL then it's better to cut ties sooner rather than later.

Sometimes you make a bad investment, doubling down on it only makes it worse. Cut your losses and move on.

Yessir, this is what I was talking about for weeks. Some hard decisions are gonna have to be made. Looks like he made one.

I wonder if they package Lance with someone else.

Would be kinda cool if they traded him to WAS for Sweat or something.

You mean an actual bucket of sweat? No way in hell will that package persuade WAS to make that trade, they're most likely willing to trade Young and even then I don't think they make the deal unless we throw in more

Wow!! Are you Sh!tting me Shanny and Lynch? Really? On a day like this, with THIS kind of news, you put Hargrave and Warner out to address the media and answer questions that should be for you? This is totally gutless! I simply can't believe this. You mismanage Lance and now you can't gather the guts to face the world on it?!?! WOW!!

Trade negotiations might be current, so Shanalynch don't want to comment during them.

That's what I'm thinking. Once the situation is resolved, they aren't going to duck these questions. They'll face the music at some point.
I think we have an offer on the table, Trey doesn't seems to be a guy that misses practice, especially paid practices.

He's just too inexperienced to unlock the talent on this team right now at the level they need, and they don't have the luxury of waiting it out anymore. They can't go to the vets again and tell them they're going with a lower performing QB. Trent Williams is about as respected a player in the NFL as there ever had been and he's clearly a huge Purdy supporter. You cannot go tell that guy who will be retiring sooner rather than later that you're not going with the best ready-now QB and asking him to increase the risk of a championship opportunity.

You can't take what the FO says at face value, you have to read between the lines. Sometimes it isn't what they say, but what they DONT say.

Then you take the combination of their actions/coaching decisions and combine it all. If you do that, you'll get a really good sense of what they're leaning towards doing.
What we learned from this. Never let Shanny near a 1st round qb again. He's just going to play his system guys anyways. He wins and is an offensive genius so I'll live with it but no need to waste picks like that.

Don't like this, what a way to start the season..with this 💩 looming over our heads. Then they don't face the media..if news is revealed, they should be ready to answer questions.

It's just QB2 news. Hopefully they'll both ride the pine all year.
