Oh come on man. You damn well know it's more than that. It's not like he was some rando day 3 pick. Dude was the largest trade move in franchise history at a position that most coaches/GMs get fired at if they f**ked up as bad as they did there.

Lance has been the talking point since he was drafted. He literally said yesterday that he wasn't gonna be making a decision about the backup spot until after the last preseason game. this is one of the top stores in sports right now.

Now you have a couple players go up and get pelted with questions about it? Ya that seems a bit gutless.

Hopefully the have a good reason…like getting Bosa's contract done

Ongoing trade negotiations is my guess.
Currently the best NDSU QB in the NFL is Easton Stick, a guy who sounds like he should be inventory at a sporting goods store.

f**k you Kyle. Idiot.

I will NEVER forgive kyle for this loaded roster and 3 NFCCG appearances

NEVER

There was a time, decades ago, when getting blown out in the NFCCG was not considered a good outcome.

How many of those teams didn't have a single QB for the game?

How many QB injuries can a team have before we can't just simply chalk it up to bad luck everytime?

Yeah, that's a BS take. The fact that the Niners made it to the NFC Championship on their third QB, and were competitive into the second quarter while on their fourth, was one of the more remarkable achievements in franchise (league?) history. I get the frustration, but a little perspective is in order.

Remarkable or not, I'm not sure why we should be completely happy and satisfied with how things have played out these last few years. Getting to 3 NFCCG and winning 0 Super Bowls should not be enough to make a coach or FO immune to criticism. Especially not for an offensive-minded HC when the defense has been the driving factor in our success.

Purdy's injury was definitely bad luck, super rare injury that had to happen at a specific time/motion etc for it to happen.

We had bad luck with Jimmy & Lance, both were on plays where they ran the ball (If I remember correctly). Purdy's was bad luck to land that specific injury. that eagles team was unique that it had like 5-6 top pass rushers, that is rare. almost set a record for sacks. So it isn't like we are the only team that they got to the QB on.

Purdy's injury had little to do with the skill of their pass rush and more to do with their coaches prepping them well for what we like to do. It could have been Tully Banta-Cain rushing Purdy on that play and he still likely would have gotten there when the only guy blocking him was a 2nd string TE.

I mean they had 6 badass pass rushers. thats more than enough for every single guy on the O line to be 1-1. That leaves an extra - so you keep a tight end in, do you want kittle running routes sometimes? or just keep him in all game? then do you keep the RB in to block as well? so now you only have two wide recievers out running routes and/or a backup tight end? come on man, they had a stacked pass rush and did historic things last seasons. thats why they had it, to overload teams and force them to play scared ball.

Answer the question about how you f**ked up 3 first rounders and the whole Lance situation.
My little ones have more pride than Lynch and Shanahan have

Wow!! Are you Sh!tting me Shanny and Lynch? Really? On a day like this, with THIS kind of news, you put Hargrave and Warner out to address the media and answer questions that should be for you? This is totally gutless! I simply can't believe this. You mismanage Lance and now you can't gather the guts to face the world on it?!?! WOW!!

It's not Kyle's fault that Trey sucks. Dude should have stayed in college and actually got some baseline skills, but instead he decided to jump out early after just one year, and then taking a year off. It's a ridiculous move but he should be thanking the 49ers to be dumb enough to draft him and pay him what they have.

It's not like they would have given any kinda insight on the decision. They would have left him staying open as well as talked him up how he's improved so much etc. people just looking for reasons to get mad at Kyle for making the obvious decision.

He is 23.
We dump him.

Cant believe this.

If it wasn't for the fact that he wasn't at practice today, I'd say there is a chance we still keep him, but him being absent tells me that its already in motion for him to leave.

Yep, sounds like they've been working towards it for a while. I for one will be putting more weight in what the media says moving forward, and less in what the FO says.

That'd be your mistake, lol.

Brock happened. Deal with it.

Oh, I have. I'm on record as saying that Brock earned QB one. I totally understood naming Brock QB2. I've never been anti-Brock. But that's separate in how they've managed Trey. Lance should have NEVER been in "competition" with Sam for QB2. Lance should have been QB2 from the start, at the very least. Darnold has PROVEN himself to be a bust, Lance hasn't. By many reports Darnold hasn't outplayed Lance in practice. And from what I saw in preseason games Lance looked better. Now, to make matter worse, you put PLAYERS out there to answer questions YOU should be answering.

This seems like Shanny realized early on that Lance would need way more developing than he realized. And for a SB-ready team this does not match. But that's not Trey's fault. He didn't force himself on this roster. Shanny & Co. spent 3 years of 1st's and a 3rd to draft him but wasn't interested in seeing his development through.

Shanny is a brilliant play caller and play designer. But his flaws as a coach, as a QB evaluator, as a developer is on front street for God and all the world to see. I am not - N.O.T - not call for his job. But dammit, be a f*cking man and face the sh!t YOU put out. Don't put players out there on a day like this to face the music before you.

Whole situation just doesn't sit well with me. I was hoping we would just roll with who we have and keep Lance for an emergency. Aside from trading away all those picks for him, signing Darnold and trading Lance feels wrong.

Purdy being back right on schedule without missing a beat has definitely sped up this process. That, plus I feel like whatever team they are negotiating with must have come to them in the last 24-hours with an offer they clearly like in principle. Things change quickly, and they also try to do things right by their players, which in Lance's case at this point is probably to go to another team where he can have a fresh start.

This has to mean a trade will be announced soon, but probably not before this scheduled interview, so Shanny doesn't want anything to slip.
