Kyle is feeding a message out for public consumption. We are trying to trade him because we want to, lol.

Kyle better pray that Trey is ultimately mediocre or worse or that Brock wins us #6.

If Brock goes down now for the season we are completely f**ked.

In other words, you root for individuals more than the team.

I've always found this weird. Thought it was weird when some people became "Chiefs fans" in 1993-1994, too.

After listening to that clip I suspect a team like the Vikings will offer chump change for him, but the 49ers would rather keep him here if he wants to be here, but it seems he may not. Or maybe he asked for a release.

Unless Kyle is simply lying about wanting him here. If he's not, that's what makes sense to me.

Reading between the lines, if we wanted him here, he would have been here today

Listening to what he actually said, however, he wants him here. Since he said, you know, he wants him here. The 49ers are not going to gain much by trading or releasing him. Seems Trey just wants out. If so it's disappointing. He was supposed to be the high character guy. Then again, Steve Young had a similar moment. But he stuck with it.

He doesn't want to rot away as a third stringer. I don't blame him for wanting out.

Third string is where he would get most of the reps outside of starter (I believe)

Don't look at it that way, homie. I'm still hoping he has a great career, but the fit wasn't right here. Hell, RGIII may have had a good career if not for the Shanahans, doesn't mean either is wrong. Was just never a fit.

First of all, what is wrong with you? lol. That first bolded statement is cringe.

Second of all, we were f**ked if we had to go with Lance too at QB2. He was clearly beaten by Darnold.

Lol he isn't a 49er fan, hes a Trey Lance fan. there is a difference. he wants to be right so bad about Lance that he wants the team to have bad outcomes. If he is rooting for another team to beat the 49ers in the playoffs, he isn't a 49er fan.

i concur, we were still royally effed if Brock went down and lance was here. It's just delusions of grandeur that Lance would come in and be Mahomes.

So didn't want to take the chance and start the news stories early.

LOL, I don't dig theories like that, but when Trey led that last game winning drive, and Aiyuk was so excited for him he got that penalty, maybe things like that played in too. Locker room obviously loved him.

Was it for Trey or was it for Latu? He went towards Latu

Was Aiyuk working with Latu the past couple offseasons? I think they built some chemistry.

Watching preseason it was clear who QB2 was for me

He wants chance to start like most top prospects do within their first 3 seasons.

Which means what? Half that money is there regardless if he's the hype guy walking about with the boombox, traded, or the starter.

When Darnold signed he could have been QB1 at the start of the season. Lance was just activated off of his injury, and Purdy's timeline was TBD. It was a great opportunity for Darnold anyway you cut it because of the system he was going into and the Front Office/Coaching stability. Now, he could have ended up QB3, but those odds were simply lower and would only happen if both Purdy and Lance were healthy and outperformed him. He ended up being beat out by one but not the other. A good gamble for him.

This x 10000. Not a niner fan. Pure and simple. Not gonna be mad if he bounces the niners?

I don't understand why some folks are so crazy about being wrong, or potentially being wrong. I'm wrong about stuff, its no big deal. You just learn and grow from it.

if lance started balling out or had won QB2, or even was QB1 - I'd root for him and admit i was wrong.

i get corrected on here all the time, its not a big deal. none of us know everything, we are just giving our opinions.

Kyle may want him her, but Lance may not be willing to stay here as the QB3 and want an opportunity elsewhere to be at least QB2. Both are valid positions, but because SF typically doesn't like to totally screw players, or have players around that don't really want to be there, he'll likely be dealt.

He is QB3 right? No HC or GM wants a $20m / 2 yrs QB3. Zero. Just not a thing folks.
The other team may see him as a QB2 with potential to be a cheap QB1 in the future. If any team was asking for him, it would be over those great throws against the Broncos and untapped potential. A seventh round pick and 10 million per year is not a horrid gamble if that team has a bunch of cap space.

But it sounds more like Trey wants out and Kyle is trying to acquiesce to that.

Yea I am talking on SF. KS or JL don't want a 20m over 2 QB3. Now if you are MIN, and you know you are letting Kirk walk, the situation is dif than ours. We have our QB of the Future, Brock. They don't.

Ah, I misunderstood you.

Still, I believe Kyle is telling the truth here. That ten million means little this season. As someone else pointed out, the 49ers have a history of trying to do players right. So maybe Kyle is open to either, and Trey prefers to be moved.

Such a weird position to take. You'd rather the 49ers and Purdy all fail miserably just to spite Kyle? You'd choose to go 0-17 just to spite Kyle? This is dumb.
