Nearly all those teams aren't ready to win a SB. That's the key difference. The ones that were either had no other option on their roster or had the QB sit for multiple years.
It was comically bad management and it bit us in the ass immediately. That's a fact.

He is more likely to get injured playing in that game against absolute trash than doing anything to help his stock. At this point, the 49ers f**ked up any value for him by making him QB3 before the final preseason game. Trey has to think about himself and should care less what the 49ers get for him.
Ya that's going to endear him to another team… throw his organization under bus because he didn't win the comp.

How much sympathy do you really think there'd be for QB making 40 million dollars and providing so little in return? It's not like were holding this guy hostage. All a team has to do is call and make an offer. Let's see if it happens and what it is.

Lol, he was not. But he did treat him like an established QB1 right up until the end of TC, which was just as absurd from a practical standpoint.
He was trying to develop him like every damn team does with their highly invested young QB. By giving the reps and playing him. Not benching him for a full yr.
shocking a 20 yr old kid, with 300 career passing attempts (since 2019) wasn't lights out the first moment he got on the field. Kid needed to play and if they weren't gonna allow that to happen, then they f**ked up the pick. Plain and simple.
He was slated to play year 1 and start year 2….he got hurt both times and that's the bottom line

Who the hell is Americanbiff? And why does his tweet matter? Dudes got 9 followers and his last retweet was something about Tucker Carlson/trump Shocking he thinks Lance needs to go
because it's the right perspective. the teams accomplished what it set out to do when it drafted Trey, its just not Trey that helped them accomplish it. I'm not knocking trey, it's the point behind it.
we can't look at the situation as "what's best for Trey Lance?". You have to view it through the lense of "What is best for the 49ers? and which QB can help the 49ers achieve their goal of competing for a championship now and in the future?" Brocks the only one that we've seen that caliber out of. He's the only one that we know can actually do it, we just need to see if he can sustain it - which it looks like he has had a great camp and rolling. Perfect today.

lol trey demand a trade, he isn't demanding anything he's QB3.. SF wants to unload that contract, no team wants a high cap hit QB3.. will SF find a taker? do I hear a swap of 7th rounders? I don't think TL is demanding anything at this point. Seems like a good kid, and if anything a lil reserved. This will not be a TO in the driveway moment lol.

The initial plan was for that QB to be Trey Lance. Plans changed and the chosen QB became Brock Purdy. Same destination https://t.co/yK90FHnfTa
Same destination and much better contract
And yet they still tried to trade for a Rogers, Watson and Stafford lol. They just didn't want to give Jimmy an extension. The rookie QB route was the only route when they couldn't get a legit vet.

I don't think it's that simple but yeah...kind of. There's no use crying about it. That's why Im.surprised he's playing Friday. This marriage is over...(I think)
it'll be an interesting game/weekend - if he is going to be moved, it'll be by monday. He may not get moved and we hold onto him. There is still that chance if no one offers us something we like. I question that the team will trade him just to trade him, unless theyre counting on the cap space.

Brock gives the team an additional year of (super) cheap QBing since his rookie deal ends after 2025.

yeah, so do we want to waste another 2 years and hope he gets it together? especially when he has been all over the place on the field? then we either commit another $20M+ to him after this year, or we dont and then after his fourth year, we have to resign him. it's just a s**t show. brocks contract is more favorable and hes shown a lot more.

That said and injuries aside, he never grasped the offense the way Purdy did from the get go even with an additional year to do so. I do feel bad for him, seems like a solid kid. Who knows what the right situation is at this point, somewhere behind a vet I would guess.

This just keeps getting weirder.
Ask yourself if that makes sense. Day off to grieve? On a position battle?
I don't see anything weird here, Sam is clearly playing better, he is QB2, and the team has a decision to make on TL. QB3s don't make bank in this league. So they will probably accept the first chance they get to move this contract. This will not be a haul for us. This is not a windfall. This is a hit the eject button and move on. Don't expect a ton of comp.
I was being dramatic. He said something to the effect of, "I told him to take the day off to get his head right."

if play continues what hes been doing, him and his contract are a god send for maintaining this team. literally cant get better, not even if he was UDFA.
