Trey has more millions than starts. He goes to a storied franchise, hard to feel empathy for anything about the situation.

Pretty much … wow I'm so disappointed.

I'm still going to every game, I've been here longer than Lynch & Shanahan and will be here once they are long gone!
They were keeping them before to go watch Lance hold a clipboard?
That part
I cannot believe this. Saying it was racially motivated, WTF is going on?
Your buddies are out of their minds. Probably voted for Biden. Lol

Sure they are.
100%, just watched these emotional midgets sell their tickets.
Riiiiiiight. They sold their tickets because Trey Lance the back up is not on the team!!! Dude was never going to play anyway for the 49ers. What difference did this trade make??
Yah the fact that you replied to me and explained tells me everything I need to know. I call BS.
I'm with you on this one, this is just football.
Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, and Roger Craig were all traded or got released.

Only take 5 million for that

I thought a 5th would be the best case scenario. Ignoring the other (terrible) aspects of this situation, gotta give props for getting a 4th.
Sending the kid to Dallas says a whole lot, though.
Best of luck Trey, except when / if you face the 49ers.

A QB3 who might be needed and could be better than Allen.
Someone with upside.
Increasing trade value.
What does the team gain by moving him for minimal return?
We gain millions of cap, Allen, we move on from a major distraction, and I assume there would be a pick swap, so our draft position will get an upgrade on some level. If you listen or read Bill Barnwell, he says TL is gone by Oct / trade deadline. If it happens now, we retain Allen, otherwise we lose him more than likely.
Buy high, sell low

"Trey lance should be excited, he is now on the team with the coach who developed Matt Flynn, Brian Brohm, BJ Coleman and Brett Hundley."

"Doing Trey a favor" is an idiotic justification for this.
Obviously we don't want to see succeed in Dallas and make the organization look even worse, but he never got even close to a fair shake.
We aren't doing Trey a favor lol.
We want him out.

Here's what the Cowboys will owe Trey Lance over the next two seasons:
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) August 25, 2023
2023: $940,000
2024: $1.55M salary, $4.255M roster bonus
A total of $6.745M fully guaranteed over two years for an intriguing prospect as a Dak insurance policy.

sunk-cost fallacy
the phenomenon whereby a person is reluctant to abandon a strategy or course of action because they have invested heavily in it, even when it is clear that abandonment would be more beneficial.
49ers had to move on.

He's buying a Dallas jersey for Lance right now
Probably.
You guys are being so dumb. All NY wanted was for Lance to have a chance. He isnt a Lance super stan like you guys are trying to make him out to be.
Most of us wanted Lance to have a chance. His chance was the start of last season. Purdy playing great prevented them from being able to do it again this year. It just wouldn't have been fair to the other players on the team to sit the best QB. And then Lance not being able to win the 2nd QB job really ended things. It's unfortunate, but maybe he'll get his chance now in Dallas. Very unlikely to be this season, though. He'll, Dallas could flip him to another team next offsrason before he even plays one snap with them for all we know.
