Nah. Off the top of my head the Ricky Williams, Herschel Waker and OJ Simpson trades were all worse.

Did any of these cost more than 2 1sts and get less than 5 games?

Walker cost way more.

He just can't play. He fell to QB3, and you don't holster a QB3 at some ridiculous cap charge for multiple years. My take. As soon as he fell to QB3, he was finished. That's why Matt M was so daft, he was saying 'what's the big deal, lineups change all the time, QB3 isn't a big deal'. It was.

Of course it was. Get what you can while you can and save as much money as possible. Easy call.

Definitely 49ers history but not NFL history. I believe that belongs to the Ricky Williams draft trade.

How many 1sts did they use, and how many games did they get?

The saints gave up their entire draft and then some. Ditka got canned after Williams rookie season. Williams was then traded 2 years after that and then retired two years later. All that for a freaking RB. Not even a QB. 🤣

3 firsts...had we picked him 12 we would have said it cost us a first round pick.
We missed big time. If it wasn't for Brock we would be in panic mode.

I still don't understand why I keep seeing articles and media keep saying the 49ers failed to give Trey a good chance. They gave him the starting job last year and he was suppose to be the man!!!! He got hurt and someone else came in and played better.

Other than starting him his rookie year there is nothing else they could have done. He wasn't ready his rookie year and everyone was cool with him learning under Jimmy.

now all of a sudden the 49ers didn't give him a fair shot.

He got hurt because he was running between the tackles.

Well he is a scrambling QB… injuries are a part of football. But is that your argument?

this whole situation was not hard to see if you were paying attention to what ShannaLynch were saying and doing ever since they resigned Jimmy Gesus last year

Agreed… though I didn't think a trade would materialize (at least prior to this week)*

Riverdamus nailed that part. Mandatory unblockings baby… lol

LOL funny part is I never personally attacked any trey stans in here, they just hated my assessments on their dude so much they couldn't stand to read it! instead they would choose the lazy road of ad hominem attacks...

I said since June that I still think a trade is realistic, and I got attacked for it. Lol I said it wouldn't surprise me like it would some.

River supported me! Lol good call on that he was getting traded.

and don't forget, they signed the red headed Irishman and Brandon Allen to fill the QB room after they moved lance... I think KS hoped TL would outgrow his suckiness this spring/camp but I didn't think it would really happen thus the signing of SD/BA

It's funny cause not a lot of people took us serious but we were pretty spot on how the off season would go. Lmao everyone thought I was nuts when I kept seriously saying Brock would be back for camp.

that's when a lot of people rooting for Lance for start first has their heart broken.

Therre was a lot of ad hominem flying around if you did not buy the Trey hype. Trey is the real victim of that hype. Poor guy.

From what I can see it was like a 1st, and a 4th to swap 1st? We spend 2 1sts and a 3rd to swap 1sts?

I don't know if Kyle would be on the hot seat, i think Jed loves him, but He would be looking at a really rough situation. we would probably have to get rid of guys like Aiyuk to afford a guy like cousins.

Why? If it wasn't for Brock Trey would be the starter. Unless you are saying Trey isn't good.

Brock still has to prove last year wasn't a fluke

I think Kyle signed those guys with the mindset of "I'm going to give Lance a chance this off season but if he doesn't impress, I'm moving on". I don't think he made up his mind early, I think he really have Lance a chance but he's just not capable at this point in time.

I agree.

Kyle is getting a lot of heat in his thread that he doesn't deserve. He was making moves to protect the franchise IN CASE Lance did not work out. Kyle was making moves to protect this talented roster's chance to contend for a Lombardi. He deserves credit for not being locked into a situation that has proven it wasn't going to get better quickly enough for the needs of the team.

Trey isn't good.

The 49ers would have drafted another QB this year and started Darnold. Trey may have been backup without Purdy, or another veteran or draft pick would have beaten him out for back up.
Now would be a great time to announce that Bosa has signed and all is good in 49er land.
