Trey isn't taysom Hill. Taysom is strong.

So in week 5, will Lance be the cowboys starter and play us?!
lol unless Dak and Cooper Rush get hurt, no
Yeah I know. Lol would be wild if that happened. Crazier stuff has happened though. Lol
I don't think there is any way he doesn't make the team. 1. They owe him $5M+ next year. 2. they just gave up a fourth round pick
i think their plan is to have him learn the system for a year and QB3 and then try and be QB2 next year and put pressure on dak. Not a bad situation for him. Just hope he fails cause I hate that team and if he did well there, it's worse than just about anything. Lol

For sure. It is embarrassing to be picked so high and demoted to be so low. It's a fresh start with a fresh set of circumstances, for sure. Different plans, different challenges. Good luck to him.
Just luck of the draw (or you can say God) that he suffered two season ending injuries twice in two years. Dak can play for sure till he's 40 nowadays, but that doesn't mean Trey has no shot. Purdy is 23 - he'll be a 49er (if he stays as healthy as Dak) for a lot longer than Dak will be a Cowboy from here on in.
He's also in a new situation without expectations. It was almost impossible for him to live up to three first rounders and top 3, outside of becoming elite. That goes for 99% of players, not just Trey. Tough situation for him. The change of scenery and expectations should bode well for him.
Agree💯%. Three first round picks is Joe Montana/Steve Young level of elite. That's tremendous pressure on a youngster so raw. He's at the bottom now, looking up at the bottom part of the door. Nowhere else to go but up. I don't think he's ever had to go through any football adversity. High school, College, were pretty much easy for him. NFL was a different animal. This will build his character and make him stronger in the long run - if he perseveres.

Everyone lip service on Lance traded to Cowboys as a better opportunity, but not sure if any better. He's still 3rd on the depth. And it was the 49ers that lost all 4 QBs to injury last year, not the Cowboys. Right now Prescott is like, da f**k-- they're counting on me being injured as a better opportunity lol

Don't like the idea that people are going to blame the kid for wanting out. That may very well be true, but don't get it twisted, we wanted to ship his ass out of here. Tried to do it months ago and set the QB room up for life without Trey. We wanted him gone is the reason he's gone.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to follow. This is why I've said it's hard to evaluate him because he's never really had adversity. That really tells you a lot about a qb.
i think they're going to do something similar to what NOLA did with taysum hill and Trey in packages. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

No. Because we probably wanted more earlier and when we didn't get it, we got a look at his improvement in camp.
If we didn't want to trade him, he'd be here still. This is mutual at best or one sided in that we wanted him gone.

That's been Trey's kryptonite. Health. But for his lack of durability - he'd be QB1 today. 17 games (maybe even 20 games) is a long season to where durability becomes as important as talent in a lot of cases. That's also been Kyle's kryptonite - getting durable players, specially on the QB position for the 49ers. Hope that injury bug nest has been fumigated. I hope somehow the 49er talent evaluations have really factored durability into the scouting reports from here on in - in a much more detailed and robust way than when Trey was drafted. Draft is a crapshoot, but if you have durable players, they have a shot at developing even if they aren't the most talented players at draft time. Brendel being an example.

I think theyve been tryin to get his value up. What screwed it all up was the report that he was QB3, I bet the team was upset that got out. Doesn't seem like they planned on that at all. A lot of damage control the last few days.
