I think he does. Or else he would've just stayed and took a pay cut. He knows Brock is the man here. It's different in Dallas. Dak and rush are both hitting their 30s

it's already fact we wanted him to stay, Trey requested the trade

Yea all the moves we made, all the reporting around us being effectively done with him… the fact that the player has no leverage of any kind. Feel free to believe we're paying 60 percent of his salary over the next two years to play for another team because he wanted it and we didn't. Lol.

who's paying 60% of Trey's salary over the next two years?

We have already paid him, it's his signing bonus allocation that is still on the books we save a mil this year and $5.3M next year (his base salary). The other $4.7M is from his signing bonus that he got paid when he was drafted, just allocated across the contract - if I'm not mistaken

Us. Obviously we had to eat a significant portion of the remaining money on his rookie deal. The little we saved was still worth it as he's useless here and too expensive to be a qb3.

Plus....as I said.... FA when he hits 24yrs old. A free man unless he's done some damn good things to warrant a 5th year.

The word in Dallas wont constantly be "3 1st round picks",....it'll be a "4th." Good weight off of his shoulders.

Yup. He's gonna get his shot somewhere if it's not in Dallas now. But I don't think they'd trade for a potential franchise qb if they weren't going to use in in any way. People really act like he's as bad as darnold or Jamarcus Russell. It's crazy
did anyone DM Kyle to let him know you can't make definitive future conclusions after 4 games?

I don't think this is right. Dallas is taking his salary. If not this is a major embarrassment.

Damn, Kyle is implying Trey was the leaker...🐀

He also confirmed Trey asked to be traded, and they gave him permission to look for a new opportunity.

Kyle being very transparent. That was an interesting presser for a preaseason postgame. I suggest all 49er fans listen to it. It touched on many topics surrounding Trey.

He gave the impression at the end that he felt they had to move on and took money into consideration (7mil over two years)...

So he makes it seem like it's Trey's idea to want to be traded, but also that Kyle wanted to move on himself.

Reminds me of previous relationships I've been in where I would make the breakup seem like the other girl's idea.

Imo... we should've still saw what Brock looked like this season before moving on from our investment/potential and that rookie contract. That's worth 7mill imo.

He's not going to lie about that. Trey would call him out. Can't lie about that in front of the media.

Not saying he lied about that. More so pushed Trey to want to leave. Make it seem like is his own decision Imo.

I honestly do believe if Trey and Sam were able to play this last preseason game, and Kyle made the decision next week.. Trey wouldn't have requested a trade like that.

But with Kyle making the decision before that game.. making it obvious to Trey he really couldn't win the backup role back during the season through practice (like Kyle just said to the media)...it was basically going to be #3 the whole season. Imo Kyle forced the issue on purpose.

If he cared about giving us the best chance at winning a Super Bowl this season, he could have handled this in a better way to stay on Trey's good side... again I'm coming from the perspective if Trey had to come in this season.. he would still help us get wins.

But imo he just wanted Trey off this team and let everyone know Brock is the guy no matter what. We've seen that before in this league. I don't always agree with that approach, but it is what it is.

It sounds like you're just reasoning yourself into a position that Kyle was somehow at fault here.

Kyle delivered bad news to Trey and clearly Trey didn't want to be here after not getting what he felt he deserved. Trey could have taken the news like a professional and worked his tail off to improve his position on our depth chart. I very much doubt we'd be trading Trey for peanuts if he had not demanded to be traded.

Kyle said in the press conference that he basically told Trey it would have be virtually impossible for Trey to improve his position on the depth chart this season as the 3rd String QB.

So Kyle told Trey the truth, and you fault him for that?
What the hell are you talking abou?

Depends on whether or not you're using the term salary generically as I was.

Dallas is paying 1 million this year and 5 and change next. That's our savings in the deal. We have 8 and change cap hit this year and 5 or so cap hit next year along with it.

No need. He reads this thread regularly and bases his coaching strategies on everyone's opinions. Kyle is good like that.

Even Josh Johnson played for a ton of years. Geno Smith hung on forever. Trey will eventually get another shot if he wants it.
