He's going to want a ton of money on his next contract and they're already paying him a ton. It's hard to build a good team when you're paying one guy $60M+ a year, they also have $35M In dead cap space over two years after his contract ends. That's astronomical.

Agreed on those points about Dak but not sure how Trey is a likely solution to those problems. He's not getting the playing time he needs to develop and Dallas is likely not going into a full rebuild in the next couple of years. They are a win now team just as we are.

It's low risk for them in the sense they gave up a 4th and are seemingly fine with overpaying a QB3 but Trey will have not seen the field in 4-5 full years at the earliest, barring injury or a complete meltdown for a solid-good QB in Dak and possibly Rush as well. This is not going to work out for them, or Trey.

Yeah, true. Maybe they just think it'll set a fire under Dak and have no intention of lance playing (outside of injuries to Dak and Cooper Rush). They resigned Rush this off season to a two year deal, all three QBs are signed up through the next two seasons. Lol

i don't see how lance gets any experience, especially not this year. I just don't understand how the 49ers players and Kyle/lynch are saying it's a good situation for him. Lol he's going to be 4 years into his career with only having played 3 full games. He won't even be getting reps during the season in practice.

Aye yi yi. Lmao since the next 10 picks have been amazing, it's one of the worst blunders ever. I think it's in the same category as the raiders in 2004 when they chose Robert Gallery 2nd overall. Lol look up who they missed out on, numerous all time greats.

larry fitzgerald
phillip rivers
sean taylor
Big ben
Vince wilfork
Steven jackson etc tons of guys.

Timing in these things matter. They could have simply felt his trade value earlier (pre camp) was not worth passing the opportunity to get a look at his improvements in camp. That makes complete sense.

We did not trade a QB we didn't want to move to a conference playoff rival for a 4th round pick and eat a crapload of money in the process simply because the player asked for it. We're not paying a guy ~30 million, getting no return, and then giving him away because we're nice, lol. Trey had no leverage.
Lol. Yes this will end well.

LOL so McCarthy doesn't even have a say on his final 53? This is the type of disconnect that causes problems. Don't even talk to your head coach before doing this? That's like baalke and harbaugh disconnect

lmao imagine how the coach is gonna feel with Lance coming in now. He isn't going to give a flying eff about him

That's why a guy like Mike McCarthy is their coach. We've seen this issue effect the Cowboys for decades.

I love it. Lol hopefully Lance learns how fortunate he was here. Sometimes the grass isn't greener

He wasn't fortunate here IMO. Both situations are bad for him. At least expectations will be lower in Dallas, if that actually means anything.

Yeah but at least here he was wanted, accepted with open arms. An organization that's ran really well with a great culture.

Environments like that are toxic. So even though his play time will be the same, the culture won't. IMO.

Dak has had injury issues a few times over the past few years and really milks his payday. You bring Lance in and you got a backup who is capable of being their next qb should they feel the need to depart from Dak.

Anyone who watches Lance and sees Kap probably learned most of their football knowledge from Madden.

Comparing Lance to Kap was an insult to Kap
