holy heck batman.....

Good Grief....

Wow..... WOOOOWWWWWW

Trey screwed himself......

Trey just need to win Jerry's heart. Mike McCarthy has to be a yes man, or he might not have this job in a year or 2.

this quote implies there was no strategical conversation with McCarthy on how Trey fits in, how Trey could be used.

There is no plan

Imagine jed just making a random qb trade without telling john and kyle

He should have done that for Brady.

That is way more then Allen has shown me.....

Honestly I was more impressed with Dak as the playcaller. That's the best Grier has looked in a long time.
Seems like Trey should be a 4th stringer in Dallas

I bet we pick up Grier

Woukdnt be a bad pickup. Allen didn't look very good. Maybe we pick him up and put him on the practice squad? I think there is a good chance we only go with 2 QBs on the 53, Kyle kinda hinted at that

That's way better than what Lance showed too. Lmao watch he goes on to be good. A cowboys forum I saw, they hated Grier. Maybe this is an outlier but he is playing for his career rn

I love it. Lol hopefully Lance learns how fortunate he was here. Sometimes the grass isn't greener

He wasn't fortunate here IMO. Both situations are bad for him. At least expectations will be lower in Dallas, if that actually means anything.

The media circus that follows around Dallas will chew him up and spit him out, at least the coaching staff and front office here felt responsible for him and had a stake in his final outcome to save part of their reputation, not to mention kind words flowing from the locker room and media and probably most importantly a very vocal set of 49er fans.

Now he is heading to a team that appears to have no plan for him when they picked him up, he is sitting at 3 again behind a cult like figure in Cooper Rush...and to top that all off the dude he is replacing just had a nearly perfect game. Grier is coming off a preseason he went 67 of 84 for 604 yard with 4tds passing....in preseason....

Trey is behind an 8 ball, and the narratives are ready to write themselves. This does not look like a forgiving situation to ask for forgiveness in as you struggle along in your development.

Trey screwed himself.....

This was badass.... I am preprogramed to hate Dallas, but I did think it was interesting....and was curious to see how how reactionary the running game would be with a QB calling it....

If you think about it, you want your QB to go threw mental process in preseason...with out the risk of injury...what is better then a top down 360 approach....

I think it was a win/win even if it ended in disaster....it is a point of growth for your QB.

The situation here wasn't perfect but he's going from a situation where the coach and GM genuinely wanted him to succeed. Doesn't matter if some believe that or not. They knew his success was their success and he was well liked in the locker room.
now he's in a situation where the head coach didn't even get consulted about him and will cost a depth piece on the final roster. It also doesn't matter if he succeeds or not, he's a throwaway piece now, if he succeeds great - if not, who cares - kind of thing.

in some ways I think he just went to a tougher situation cause dak is firmly locked in for two years, Jerry jones will play him no matter what cause of his cost. Cooper rush is a winner there at 5-1. Lance is a random project. It's more of a cut throat culture.

i actually feel bad for him, idk how he will fit in there or feel about it. I genuinely believe he was better off staying here as the 3.
FYI - cooper rush contract has an out next year. He has a $2M cap hit this year and $2.8M next year. Trey has a guaranteed $5.3M next year. So it'll be interesting to follow
A lot of interesting takes in here. They said that early on in training camp, it was clear darnold was better than Lance, darnold kept getting better and Lance just didn't.

i know we heard a bunch of stuff from Twitter people and all of that but they don't know what the hell is going on. Sounds like Lance was a lot worse than we thought and I think the team trading him to the cowboys says a lot, how little they really think of him.

Awww man, this is BAD. Trey should have listened to Steve Young.
The truth comes out. Lynch basically admitted to shopping trey and getting nothing. Shocked to recieve a 4th? My goodness this was a major blunder. This can base waaaaaay overrated trey

Maybe he should,
Dak. called Trey ...Trent.... twice in his interview...I thought he was throwing shade the first time, but he did correct himself the second time and call him Trey

He had very good stuff to say about Grier....

I browsed a couple of Dallas forums....they mostly are in shock.... few think Trey is a slam dunk pick up, some are wondering how raw is he...when will he approach Grier level.... and what shocked me..... generally they are not as high on Cooper Rush as they once were... generally they think he has limits and can't run a wide open offense. I know last year they were threw the roof on him and wanted Dak to sit....it appears that has changed somewhat.... I think it is safe to say I was incorrect to say Cooper Rush had a cult like following. I am sure he does have some ardent followers, but it is wrong to say generally that fan base views him like we view Purdy.

It is clear they have a 1 and a 2, but there might be wiggle room next year for lance to challenge Cooper Rush. Some think Grier had the higher ceiling than Rush and it would be easier for Trey to challenge Rush than it would be to challenge Grier. Basically right now Trey could be QB4 if they were not cutting Grier.

I left their forum googling Grier....eh....I am not so sure we should not carry him as QB 3 this year....
