No question he's a better athlete with a better arm than Brock but he doesn't see the field or make the quick decisions.
Seemed to me that most of his drives were screwed up by penalties and/or dropped passes. He wasn't perfect but I think if you put him in with the starters, you can get more reliable play to win a game then you can Lance right Now. I think that's what some are missing.
It isn't a matter of the future and who can/will be better, it's which one can give more reliable play this season. Since we know what darnold is good and bad at, it's much easier to put him in situations to win. We really never found out what Lance did well on the field.
The thing is that in the NFL the future is always one play away. I watched a QB for Carlsbad chew up Mater Dei last night. He's committed to Alabama next year. He can run and pass like Caleb Williams but maybe even better. Maybe 4 years from now the Niners can draft him.
