Of the 5 qbs that were taken at the top of that 2021 draft, Trey Lance is easily the worst, and that's saying something

No but how about praising them for keeping the team one of the best in the league while absorbing the loss of those 1st round picks.

What? No comeback? The 49ers took a giant swing and missed. I appreciate SF went for it. Sucks it didn't work out but I do give them credit for admitting their mistake by moving off of Lance so quickly. As far as Purdy goes hell yeah the 49ers got lucky. Luck plays a part in any great run. All those things don't change what Kyle and John have built. A perennial contender. Sucks they aren't dead on balls accurate all the time. If they only read the webzone more.

You're singling out just Trey though. Trey still has some unknown with him, he wouldn't be the first QB that blossoms late. If I was a team I would definitely take Lance over Mac or the cougar hunter.

I still think Fields has a chance to be good as well. Athleticism you can't teach.

We all know what you're trying to do lmao so don't reading comprehension me

At least Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones can get on the field lol. Trey Lance is getting embarrassed by players that won't sniff nfl rosters after the preseason and had no business being considered as a first round pick, let alone top 5.

admittedly, I wanted Zach Wilson the most out of the bunch(Trey Lance the least) but I'm not surprised the Jets ruined him, terrible organization with a rookie defensive minded coach.

I have no idea what anyone saw when it came to actually playing football that they liked about him. all anyone ever says about him are physical tools but never what he is able to do on the field. in college all he did was run over lesser talent or throw to wide open guys all the time. didn't play any 2 minute drills and rarely ever any close games.

it was just blow outs, cause his team was a powerhouse before and after him, and wide open passes. This pick still boggles my mind. never was a fan of it and never understood it.

I'm not a pro but how this fooled the 49ers so deeply is mind blowing.

before the pick - i thought it was a complete joke to think we would take him. lol i never took it serious.

That whole class was fools gold.

Having Wilson on the field is like not having anyone on the field. He wasn't ruined by the jets, he simply didn't have it.

The jets had to go out and get a veteran QB future H.O.F while Wilson was still on the roster! Wilson simply cannot play this game, while Lance is still in the mix and has everyone wondering IF he can play this game.
How I feel after defending Jimmy

and how Trey fans feel after defending him. Hahaha

Hmm the simple answer is yes but I think it's more complex than that. Your success in the league, especially as a young qb, depends so much on where you go and who the coach is.

i think fields went to a terrible situation and was overly depended on. I feel like he would of been a lot better here but never as good as many of us expected them to be.

jones is just a douche. Trey was/is wayyyy too raw. Dude shouldn't have been drafted in general - he should have stayed another year in college or so. They all got paid - so good for them. I always thought Zach Wilson was going to be trash. Talented but mentally just worthless

but as a whole, extremely disappointing group.

To me, you look at what the other QBs had to go through whether coaching or personnel or a combination of both and Trey had it made. Yet he still looks the worst. If any of the other QBs landed in Trey's situation there wouldn't even be a debate as to who is the worst.

Not saying I disagree with you as far as Wilson being hopeless. But had he been drafted by the Niners, he wouldve been in a much better position to succeed. Look at Jared Goff, went from being one of the biggest NFL busts of all time after his rookie season to a pro bowl qb once Sean McVay took over.

This has been what I've been saying for years. People want to call QBs busts or whatever but their success truly does depend on where they go.

There aren't as many great QBs as people think. There are QBs that are in systems that suits them. It's really hard to compare QB to QB when talking draft classes because they don't end up in the sane situation or even a system that suits them.

there's one attribute that sits above great system and coach, it's the fire and drive in the QBs
