Everyone remembers that play, but there was another one where Kam lit him up too.

I think it was the regular season in game in Seattle in '13. Vernon ran a crossing route, caught the pass, and just kind of clumsily ran horizontal toward the sideline oblivious to the fact that he was about to be hit… which he was, very hard.
jimmy g taught you well trey....
I knew he had niner blood in him with those 5 picks.

I wouldnt say stone hands, but he was definitely a body catcher with worse-than-ideal hands for a TE, especially we're talking HoF caliber guys.

Agreed.
We should have kept Delanie Walker instead of letting him sign with the Titans but I know you can't keep everyone, even 11 years ago. But there's a good chance we go all the way with Delanie and VD and Crabs and Boldin and Gore with Kap.

Did lance end up winning qb2 this year? anyone know? I know the cowboys kept cooper rush. it'll be interesting if lance is still third string and inactive all year.
I believe he threw 5 picks in his last game.

At least he made the Dallas 53. Practice reps is better than no reps. I thought he showed some flashes of talent in that loss, but yeah time is running out on him.
Only a matter of time before he's in the UFL

I don't think NFL reps will be enough for Trey. Missing out on college reps and not playing FBS is a big deal because he never learned to be comfortable at college level football. Now he has to play at NFL speed, with small NFL throwing windows and it's too big of a leap to make. That's likely why he hasn't developed much in three years of being in the NFL. Maybe a junior league or CFL would be enough of a downgrade to build up what he is missing. Or maybe he just skipped too much. He is the NFL QB version of those child prodigies that finish high school at 12 and do PhDs at 18. You never hear about them again because the whole exercise of rushing development was pointless.

yeah, agree 💯% that the CFL or other pro-organizations would give Trey some good game reps, but the money he's being paid is 💲💲💲 and I don't know if he's willing to forgo that right now just to get playing experience.

He's made top 3 draft pick money and has NO value to a team as a backup. He needs experience. If Dallas doesn't sign him, I can't imagine what other team would. He needs to play. He needed to play in 2021/2022. He's set to not play in 2024. He should go to the UFL or CFL. If he tears it up, NFL teams will come calling given his talent.

He could be playing for Mike Nolan in a year or two!

I think Dallas is going to resign him after this year. He will probably make the minimum but Jerry seems to love him. Trey has always been known as a good dude/teammate.

I feel like Jerry is going to keep hoping that Trey develops well enough to take the second string after this year. I think Rush is a free agent at the end of it.

im not saying I think this is a good idea, just what I think will happen. Jerry has favorites and he doesn't like to be wrong. I think he likes the idea of a young talented qb to keep grooming behind dak.
