trey just needs maybe 6 more playoff Ws, a SB start, to be paid highest in NFL, 40 more wins, and we can have the JG vs Trey discussion

It's not a JG vs Trey in the past discussion. It's a 2025 situation. One is going to be a free agent, and can choose where he wants to go (and will obviously not ask for a lot of money). The other one is behind a WAAAAAAAAAY better QB, a QB who doesn't use Performance enhancing drugs like your joy boy.. so yeah Stafford won't be suspended anytime soon.

you are asleep and dreaming if you think trey has a nfl future. JG had a career, he won rings, got a couple fat deals hundreds of mil, won a lot of games, and on it goes. i see what jg was talking about when he said weird stuff is going on. it is weird that we took some North Dakota St power run QB for three ones. very weird.

Trey's more likely to be out of the league than get an opportunity to start in FA. Can't ever see him starting without likely multiple injuries ahead of him.

Um... in his rookie year he had 5TDs and 2ints, plus one rushing TD. In his second year Kyle ran him until he got injured. Eitherway he only started 4 games in his career for us.

How you think someone's NFL career is over before it has even started is weird. Especially when he doesn't have horrific stats and has good character/teammate.

But again many of you treat some of our past QBs differently. We witnessed Jimmy G basically playing double agent in the 2021 playoffs... doing everything he can to give the game away on multiple occasions. Yet is praised for his playoffs record.

Jimmy G who takes Used up Pornstars on dates to restaurants... who doesn't answer phone calls from coaches and teammates... who got busted for Performance Enhancing Drugs.... is some how looked back on as some 9er great. My God the hypocrisy. But I'm used to it as a 9er fan.

My NFL career is also over before it started.

At no point was I trolling you. I firmly believe what I said to you, and you responded with a post that said Lance hasn't been given a chance and then went on a long winded Jimmy G rant.

Lance hasn't been given a chance because he's not good enough to be given a chance. Two teams have told you this with their actions. He's now 5 years removed from playing a season's worth of football and is probably the single most raw QB ever drafted as high as he was. Nobody is going to sign this guy and start him. It'd be shocking if he was even given a chance to compete to be starter. He's not good, and not very promising either.

A team with an established starter in Jimmy G, that had Super Bowl aspirations. ..then finding Gold in Brock Purdy.

A team with an established starter, Dak Prescott (who they broke the bank for to extend) and established backup vet in Cooper Rush (who did great as a starter the previous year).

Those are your two examples?

I'm not sure if you watch other NFL teams but QB play is usually bad through out the league. It would be easy for him to find a team to have an opportunity to compete for a starting role. Against he has his 1st round pick money... he is not gonna ask for a bunch of money.

It's not just the fact that the two teams didn't play him. It's that he was given away by the first for a 4th round pick and the second team is going to eat that pick and let him walk for nothing. You think it will be 'easy' for him to get a shot at a starting role, yet nobody seemed to take the opportunity to trade for him and give him the chance. He could have been had for next to nothing, especially if someone credible were to believe in him as you do.

It's hard to even imagine him as a good number 2 considering how inexperienced and unplayable he currently is.

He had 3-4 teams willing to trade for him, including the Bills to backup Josh Allen I believe. The Cowboys gave the highest pick.

I think you forget what the other top draft pick QBs were traded for during that time and after. We got more for Trey than the Jets, Bears, and Pats got for Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones.

But go ahead a spin this conversation to something else.

I don't think you can even step back and realize what you are saying. You believe someone will give him a chance to start and the best offer we could get was a 4th round pick from a team that slotted him in as QB3. No teams have made a worthwhile offer to the Cowboys since… now two years later… and he will walk in free agency netting them nothing. We fleeced the Cowboys is the honest truth. Trading him to the Cowboys was all you needed to see to understand what our team ultimately thought of him. We would never, ever, give a QB we thought could be a quality starter to a major playoff rival for a 4th round pick.

I will put my money where my mouth is.

A chance to compete? Yes why not? Did you not see the Raiders situation last year? And this year? See what the Titans have went through... what the Giants have went through... what the Steelers went through (before finally settling on Wilson)... what the Broncos have went through years ago.... etc.

You don't think a few teams will not bring him in to compete? Sure they would obviously still draft QBs.. heck even draft some high. But again in this league you just need an opportunity (like Brock has shown). We'll see what he does with that opportunity.

Again I don't think you understand how bad it is in the league when it comes to QB play... how bad it has been for many years. (Heck it's finally better)

The fact that Teddy Bridgewater, and his fragile body and weak arm, thinks he can get back into the league.. (probably because he can run these West Cost Offenses still better than what is available)

I don't think he will be signed with a chance to compete to be a starter. I don't think he would win a competition anyway (probably not even as a 2). He is in the conversation for worst QB in the NFL. You can make the argument all day long that QB play across the leak is 'weak' but you're missing the obvious point that Trey Lance is a terrible player with very little realistic upside.

Based off what? He's 1 and 1 as a starter... and we should have won that Cards game. Had 5Tds and 2ints in his first year.

Since then we have only seen him play behind 3rd-4th string Olines in meaningless preseason games.

There were reports he outplayed Sam Darnold in training camp... and that was one of the main reasons he wanted to leave. He asked Kyle could he still compete for the #2 job during the season, and Kyle said no. Asked for a trade after.

And again did you forget how Cooper Rush played previously going into last year? There is a reason many in that fanbase wanted (some still want) him to replace Dak Prescott for good. He was 6-3 as a starter for the Cowboys. How in the hell you expect a young inexperienced QB to come in there and beat out the established Vet QB as the #2 for a team going all out to make it to the Super Bowl?

If you want to spew this Trey is the "worse QB in the NFL" and "Trey is a terrible player" then yeah I'm just better off blocking you... or just don't bother quoting me anymore. Just wasting my time. You don't do your research or take football serious. This is just social media for you, and I don't play that game.
