They open the speech in the hospital and you just hear the voice and I'm what they got Jerrah on the show? Anyway the story about him drilling wells north of SF in Brentwood to be near his daughter going to college at Stanford, then him making enough money on those wells to buy the Cowboys, is that true? I haven't verified that story.
I think he may be a better actor than GM

It came across as being genuine. Crazy though his story of coming to NorCal to be near his daughter led to the Cowboys.

ppl clown on the guy, he owns the dallas cowboys. do you know how many ppl dream of owning the cowboys. he owns them. he built the stadium, won 3 championships, built one of the great teams of all time, he bought em for like 200m they are worth 10+ billion. he pulled off maybe the greatest trade of all time. he's got the gold jacket. and ppl want to say this and that. look at the resume i have respect for jones, don't have to like the cowboys but he's a legend like an al davis was or eddie or those guys.

It will probably take us at least three more seasons to recover from the worst draft trade in NFL history.

2nd worse trade in nfl history. That Deshaun Watson trade takes the cake

Definitely the worst trade in 49ers' history. I can't reconcile making that trade just to draft a complete unknown. That's a stupidity level that defies belief.

Would you trade those 3 picks for Pat Mahomes? Lamar Jackson? Josh Allen? Joe Borrow?

I would think you would. Point being, every pick is an unknown and has potential to bust. If you believe in the player then swing for the fences and do what you can to get him. Trevor Lawrence was a cant miss generational player according to everyone. He's pretty meh so far.

Remember on Ballers the Rocks character would call him Boss Man. He probably deserves a lot of credit for making the nfl for what it is.

When you're at the top there's always going to be a lot of haters because of envy. Cowboy fans probably just want a championship team and glaze over everything else. When I hear and see Aikman and read about him he comes across as a pretty good dude. It's just at that window of time with Jimmy Johnson they were trouncing us. If what Jerry said is true and not fabricated drama for the show, then respect for him and glad he put it out there.
Landman does a lot of that pointing out the truths of the oil industry.

That's the problem! They swung for the fence BEFORE they knew who they wanted.

Given that at least LJ and JB were far more known quantities coming out of college, yes, I would have traded for either of those two specifically (assuming we weren't already in position to draft them). You're correct that it was the consensus that Trevor Lawrence was a generational QB. I myself never assumed so. That doesn't change a thing about the truth of what I typed in my previous post. We traded up not knowing who we wanted but just to make sure that we got one of them. You make that trade and sacrifice so much, you should know exactly who you want, and what you're getting. Outside of that, in my eyes, where other regimes would have been fired for a failure like this, this regime has done more than enough to be secure, and I love them, they just need to be accountable for their mistakes and do better moving forward.

they knew who they wanted, ended up he wasn't going to be available after all

My take is he has talent. He has work ethic, but is incredibly raw. I'm not even trying to insult him when I suggest he is the perfect prospect to be playing in the UFL. He needs experience, but the way the NFL is today, it's not structured to develop a guy like him.

Never be more than a back up. Ceiling is Brissett.

Possibly, but we will almost never know. Unfortunate series of events for him, but that's what I mean about giving guys like this a spring league to try and develop some more.

I understand Kyle was going to integrate him little by little even in season 1, but he kept getting hurt. They are very lucky to have found Purdy because it was a pretty dismal trade in hindsight.

Corn Country Brentwood? I have family there. I never heard of any drilling. WTF. Jeremy Newberry used to live there. Sold his house last year IIRC.

Haha stop making up s**t just to deflect for Kyle.

But I'll play along because this is hilarious. Who was it that they wanted? That they were surprised he wasn't available?
