Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

I can't do anything but root for the kid and hope Kyle coaches him into a pocket passer. I have serious concerns with his accuracy and lack of touch and his run first attitude. I'm hopeful Jimmy stays another 2 years which would give lance the time to develop.

If he turns great, beautiful. If not, i want shanahan fired.

This is a little bit worrisome
Just watched every throw and run from his college career... No bueno...

Weird how he was way better in the first half of 2019 and really hard to watch though the fcs playoffs...

I think Kyle really messed up... Lance can't even consistently hit swing routes with out them having to turn around...

Mac's tape was a machine hitting every player in stride...
Shanahan messed up so hard... Stay at 12... Get Mac Jones... was the play...

If you want to feel positive.. only watch the first half... If you want to see how bad we fudged our franchise... Watch the last 1/3...

Also he looks slow against this competition in traffic... Less twitch then fields... Seems like a jed pick full of eq

I don't buy it one minute that Trey Lance was the guy all along. John Beck was asked with Lance much much later after the trade. I still think that Shanahan wanted Jones and Lance became somone others wanted. Lynch lied when they said they never made an offer to GB, meaning they weren't sold on the QBs. Aaron Rodgers even said that GB should have taken the offer. This FO was arguing about who to pick until the last minute and lying through their teeth.

I think you believe everything you hear in the media too much. lol

haha YOU are the one believing everything that you are being told by Shannylynch ...

I´m terrified. I can´t stop seeing Kaepernick in him.

I guess they look related?

Lmao Lance hasn't even put on pads yet for the niners and you're saying he's a bust, you can tell the future ? If so plz tell me the lottery numbers, thanks !

It definitely was Kyles guy. Whoever we drafted was always going to be Kyle's guy. We would have already known that even if they didn't confirm it right after drafting Lance. I didn't want Lance But I said before I had faith in Kyle and he deserved to get the guy he wanted. I still feel that way. We didn't make him our coach as an offensive mind to deny him his QB of choice. In the end, he will be the one who has to own it though. If he is right he will own it and look like a genius. If he is wrong, it is not going to look good for him.

Some stuff that is still really terrifying me about Lance.

He has the least pass attempts of any QB drafted in the first round in something like the last 40 years. That little of pass attempts against FCS defenses. leaves a lot of questions

The accuracy issues. 44% accuracy rate past the line of scrimmage. lowest of anyone drafted in the first round since 2017.

Lastly, sometimes he shows a lack of touch on his passes. Not saying he cannot throw with touch but sometimes he threw the ball way harder than he needed to. Probably causing some of his accuracy issues TBH.

Obviously, his experience is not his fault. His accuracy could improve and I do think he more than likely learns with experience when to throw a rocket pass and when not to. Lance might be one of the biggest boom or bust candidates ever drafted this high. I would be lying if I didn't say this pick scares the hell out of me.

In a pandemic year, what can you do? The limited pass attempts are no fault of his and ALOT of guys this year have weird-looking "collegiate career" stats.

I hope he becomes great... I'm just saying, what do you see when you watch that?... 95 percent of players don't improve accuracy. It's why all these qbs bust... His film's scary that's all I'm saying...

No, It definitely wasn't his fault for his lack of experience and pass attempts. But that doesn't change the fact that he has a lack of experience in many areas. From passing reps and a lack of quality competition. A lack of experience is still a lack of experience though regardless of the reasons why.
