my whole point in here was lance needs snaps to develop…what he has issues with is stuff you need to actually play to improve at mostly. We know he's gonna put the time in with film and fixing the mechanics. I think most objective fans knew Lance was the most raw of the bunch BUT his upside is as high as any of these QBs (probably higher).

Trey Lance is John Elway. How are these comments helping Trey? No doubt he will play 75-125 snaps this season, unless jimmy breaks something. Just right.

If that's what you got from that comment then more power to you…nowhere did I say he's Elway and there's no reason to put words in my mouth. I said I was watching Elway highlights and a lot of what he did is stuff that Lance can do. Ton of extending plays and throwing f**king bullets. Not the cleanest mechanics from either dude. Just god given ability.

my recollection is that Elway had a pretty good three-quarter delivery. Tree looks like he's got more of a shorter muscular throwing motion pushing the ball out sometimes Anyway Elway made a lot of erratic decisions and hopefully can moveTrey beyond that with the proper development agenda

I hate the comparison crap. Its disrespectful to Elway to make comparisons to a player that has played zero NFL games and close to zero college games. It also puts undue pressure on Trey. Just let the kid be Trey Lance.

Players who have explicit weaknesses like only reading half the field/issue going through progressions, need read options/rollouts, trouble with certain type of passes trouble with certain type of zone reads, etc

that's where watching film and exploring those weaknesses help

Once again the QBs who don't know how to do more than that were never going to be successful long term.

Lance in a short amount of time has shown the ability to go through his reads so there shouldn't be a reason why more tape on him would ruin him.

It's not more tape that dooms those QBs, it's their lack of development or self improvement. Simple as that.

Look at Russell Wilson. The early book on him was "keep him in the pocket and force him to throw" well Wilson worked to improve his ability to throw from the pocket so that gameplan is out the window now. Yet there is more tape of him out there. Why is that?

A lot of great QBs made erratic decisions especially when they had the skill set to make certain throws. Elway, Allen, mahomes, Favre etc you take the good with the bad when you have guys like that

That's not how it works in here. Mention a QB and people will take it as a comparison. Even if you specify that you're not comparing them.
