I don't think NY was saying that Lance is MUCH LIKE Elway, he was only making a point to recognize.. plus, Lance is no way CLOSE to being John, not at all.. if there's one comparison it should be, which include his arm motion or delivery, it's should be the late Air.

and imo Lance has the god given ability to make these types of plays. You can not say that about every QB.

Lets be clear, so far TL has made zero meaningful plays.

Why does he need to be compared to anybody. Do you think he wants to be compared to a HF QB or do you think he would rather carve his own path. The comparison analogies are anxious, disrepectful and nostalgic.

No. Trey already brings the ability to play 11 on 11 football just with the threat of the run alone. Look at the preseason games for proof. Our RBs are averaging insane yards per carry because of the open running lanes his presence in the R/O brings regardless of what line he's playing behind. You simply do not have that with non-rushing threat like Jimmy. And, remember, Shanahan's WCO offense is primarily a rushing offense where the run sets up the pass downfield on play-action fakes and bootlegs. Trey's running threat unlocks a whole other level to what this system can do under Kyle and Mike.

No, you're wrong!

I feel like most feel. I cannot wait until Trey is ready to take over. He showed a few flashes of what he can be in this league. As much as I like a lot of Jimmy's attributes, his physical limitations do handcuff the offense. Trey has all of the physical attributes to be great. Unfortunately, he still has a little ways to go when it comes to the nuances of a pro offense and understanding what a pro defense is throwing at him. Trey can learn a lot by being in the QB room learning from Shanahan, scangarello and Jimmy every week.

Yes. He has shown real improvement over the course of the pre season. I would go as far as to say that realists recognize his potential but also recognize that he isn't quite ready to start. Lets all hope that he is ready by mid season to take over if he is called upon because JG's injury history doesn't exactly breed confidence. It would be ashame to have this team miss the playoffs again because of injury at the QB position.

I will repeat it until people here get the simple mathematical truth: an offense that can play 11 on 11 football against a defense has a serious advantage over the offense that can only play 10 on 11 football against a defense.

Its nothing against Jimmy. But arithmetic is arithmetic.

And that is the reason why we all as 49ers fans should be rooting for Trey to figure it out sooner rather than later. We should want this offense to go nuclear.
