I'd say the runs at 0:45, 1:08, and 1:30 are the only examples of some indecision, but two of those seemed like poorly blocked plays. He doesn't seem to have burst like what I'm used to seeing from Kyle's RBs. Overall he looked fine in this game imo.

I don't get what the 49ers saw in this dude. I hope I'm wrong, but he doesn't have a trait that jumps out. People point to his 10-yard split, but it doesn't translate to the field. Everything about him is average on the field.

I think TDP is going to be a stud for us. Now that dude has some traits that jump out(size, power and explosiveness). I'm pretty f**king pumped about him in our run scheme.

you can not tell me there was not a player in a position of need we had at the time of this pick.. like a center guard,... anyone.. i do not want to hear the homers tell me... well the niners obviously thought he was the best player in the draft when that pick took place.

I think its because he was a 3rd rounder and our 4th rounder beat him for the starting job

Mitchell was a 6th

Case and point, then we use another 3rd on a running back. I haven't gave up on Sermon but it does raise an eyebrow.

Think drafting bruiser backs in the higher round in consecutive drafts shows Shanahan is prioritizing implementing a power run game, which i love. Gets back to some 49er roots and might best complement Trey Lance's play style

Agree, but I'd also add that because Kyle's now had 0-2 record in the fourth quarter in playoff games where his run game failed late in the game. I think that's a factor in him drafting bigger and more powerful running backs recently.

In defense of our RBs and run blocking, when a defense is sold out to stop the run and there is no threat of a pass, that will happen. We do need RBs that can get yards when we need yards, but the passing game has to be respected.

we have YUCK - DEEVAH - KITTLES and J1... i'm not sure how the Best Young Mind in Football should have a hard time finding a way to get the ball to them... after all, he's made every QB he's had a very good ones... RIGHT ?

The film is out there. The QB has to throw it. Opportunities were there.

.... so the HC calls for a " FB Dive " on the most important call of the game..

Right. See Jordan Mason.
John Lynch should not be allowed to EVER draft a RB in round 3. I know Gore was a third rounder but that was decades ago. Remember him drafting Joe Williams when Alvin Kamara was on the board. He drafted a guy who quit on his team. Trey Sermon in the third and this kid out of LSU both seemed like reaches to me.

Williams was on KS. Lynch had him off their board.

Yeah. I believe Kyle Is responsible for every RB we draft. Lynch Is more of a defensive lineman type of guy.
