Yes. Sorry. I was wrong. He had 41 carries last season for 167 yards. 30 of those 41 carries came in the first 4 weeks of the season. Where was he at the rest of the season? We sure could have used him.

Maybe with it looking more and more like we are going to be running more inside zone, we cab get some production out of him. I'm more concerned about our offensive line than any of the backs on the roster.

Its understandable to be concerned going into the season with a couple unknowns on the O line. I just hope someone steps up besides Mitchell at the RB position.
I think TDP could be the AJ Dillon to our Aaron Jones (Elijah Mitchell). TDP isn't quite as big as Dillon but he looks to be more explosive.

For real. I'm genuinely concerned with losing that Corvette speed in Mostert. That completed the running game. I don't know if teams need to worry as much about OZ off tackle as much or him cutting back off that as much now.

Mitchell is great but even though we spent a couple 3rds on RB, neither have that same ability/speed.

But if we're switching to more inside, maybe we'll be alright even if more condensed.

Mostert is too fragile and 30. I knew as soon as they drafted Sermon and Mitchell that he was done as a niner.

In Mostert's defense, all the guys that have been able to get outside and turn the corner have had durability issues.
Can understand frustrations about his play last year, but I think he's too good/solid of a player to stay that way.

Mitchell/TDP/Sermon/JWJ is an absolutely insanely talented backfield. Mix in the talent/awareness of Juice and the threat of Lance rushing were going to create so many matchup problems this year. Plus Lance can stretch the field with his arm? So damn pumped to see the plays Kyle draws up for our run game this year.

Agree 💯% what good is speed if 90% of the time its warming benches.

They still have Deebo for those bubble screens and outside zone speed runs. I think Ayiuk can chip in too on the speed dimension for the ground game. Granted, Mitchell isn't going to try out for the Olympic sprint events, but he isn't a slow poke either.

Finally, Trey makes the ground game much more dangerous versus Jimmy being back there with Mostert.
According to reports, Sermon is having a good camp. I'm hoping it carries into the season.
Sounds like more of a rb by committee approach this year but you know as Kyle calls a game he gets a hard on for one rb over another.
Seems to be the 4th or 5th best rb on the team. And if you include juice then he drops down another spot. i think he makes the team over Hasty due to draft capital they spent on him.
I'm curious if the Niners trade any of their RBs after they get showcased in pre-season.

No way all of the fringe players clear waivers.

I really want this guy to be good. I just don't see it. Would love to be wrong.
Sermon just isn't explosive. You see it with Hasty & TDP. If I was in charge I'd cut my losses and either trade him for a late pick or cut him outright. RBs should be Mitchell, Wilson, TDP, Hasty/Mason
