We seem to do well w/5th round selections.

While we'd be very lucky if that happened, why would a team give up draft capital for a RB that can't be successful in this offense? Matt Breida looked real good here and he netted a 5th. If Mason performs, Sermon is as good as gone. We all questioned the TDP pick, but perhaps the team has less patience with guys than they did five years ago.
I thought he was still indecisive getting to the hole and never seemed to accelerate.
Trade him for a center. 😂

any o line guy we can get for him would be good. hasty is the guy everyone thinks is gone but he was our best back friday.. aside from his idiot special teams mistake he made
Did not like the pick and I haven't been impressed by him. Saying that, I felt the same way about Armstead. So not going to judge too early.

Hasty is too small, and plays small, and limited to be useful..
Sermon has had better flashes of usefulness in the regular season games from last season, Sermon is probably a overall better backup RB to keep and more useful than Hasty to keep for the 53 men roster cut.

Hasty can play returner on special teams and is a good 3rd down speed back. Sermon is a good recieving back, but not much else. He just doesn't look as decisive as the rest of the RB squad. I think Jordan Mason has a legit chance to win Sermons spot. But as others have said, its a strong group with Mitchell, Wilson, TDP, and Hasty.

Barlow at least looked nice as a back up for a season before turning into a complete dud as a starter.

Yes, we should take other teams' Justin Skules lol. Any o-line would not be better and I can't fathom a situation where we get even a serviceable backup for this kind of trade. A failed RB in San Francisco who the team gives up on after a year? No one is giving up anything of value (high or low) for that. He either makes the 53 or he is cut.
Need to trade him with Jimmy to the Browns for Hunt and a 5th. Hunt is exactly the RB we need this year.
Sermon still doesn't pass the eye test for me, I see the same hesitated moves when he carries... in one carry alone TDP looked more game ready then him.
Just my two cents. Funny thing though, Shanny seemed to see the opposite in his presser. Guess he's gonna get a long look in determining the 53.

Agree 💯%, 3rd rounders are cut on occasion - and I don't see Sermon attracting much attention in a possible trade. I'm with SFVniner, he just doesn't pass the eye test with me either.
