Still arguing over the backups?
All that really matters is Mitchell and Wilson stays healthy. The rest aren't ready to take over the starting job.

Sermon looked like this is his 2nd year in the league, not DTP or Mason 🤣 Hasty? He's worthless 🤣 there is a reason why they're "backups"..

Can't have two treys on the team. Especially if you're hoping for two sermons on Sundays.

yeah i forget that Frank Gore was in round 3

Add in Ricky Watters as a late 2nd rounder.... and it almost paints a picture that the 49ers should take RBs in the second or Third. Anyone who was anyone drafted by the 49ers to be a back was take in a narrow section of 27 picks in the 2nd and 3rd round

This guy runs like he is stuck in quicksand.
I hate to rag on OSU RBs but I've seen so many that dominate in college and do nothing in the NFL. Archie Griffin was a 2 time Heisman winner and he didn't do that well in the NFL. Okay but not great. I really think those big O lines that they always have make these back look a lot better than they are. I'm probably forgetting someone but I can't really remember an OSU RB that was a dominant runner in the pros.
Not sure how anyone can actually evaluate the guy when our o-line plays like that. Getting hit in the backfield on almost every run.

That would be true if it was just this pre season. Problem is he showed nothing last year and apparently isn't tearing it up in practice. No big deal if he doesn't work. They cut ties with Joe Williams when he showed he couldn't play.

We all hate to see a relatively high draft pick not work out but it's worse to waste a roster spot on a guy that's not going to play much.

John Lynch either disagrees with that or is lying about it.

He worked incredibly hard and had a tremendous offseason. Hasn't showed up in the games, but throughout training camp has been one of our best players.

Coaches and GMs usually say that stuff about their players. He could work hard and still not be as good as the other guys. Being an effective RB in the NFL is a lot about vision and being able to spot the holes and hit them quickly. Very few are going to outrun LBs to the edge or run over guys. Holes in the NFL open and close in a split second. In college they are often big enough to drive the team bus through.
Turd from the moment we drafted him. No room for him on the team
