Not sure I like the pick.

That's a real solid RB group. Speed and power.

My only issue is you're only making two of them active on game day...I love sermon this seems like a long term pick

It is long term bc Mostert (1 year left) and Wilson (1 year deal) will have to be addressed after the season.

Yo this kid looked really good. I think he lasted one play against us.

I know you're being a smartass and all, but he did have 193 yards vs. Clemson. You're right the kid did look good.

That's great. He had 1 carrie for 2 yards and tapped out vs Bama. Hoo rah

He had 331 yards against the best D in football last yr

Mostert
Wilson
Sermon
Gallman

So he's not active on game day

And 191 against Clemson, another dominating defense

Agreed, he's legit talent I just didn't see the need to give up all that on a guy that might not even be active this year

I see three active. Mostert, Wilson and Sermon.

This pick makes a lot of sense if you are looking to maintain a long window. With no RBs signed beyond this season, rather than having to invest a lot of money in Mostert and whoever else, this guy will be on a rookie contract for the next four years. Like with Trey Lance when JG is traded, the cap saving in those two guys on rookie contracts will allow the team to resign other stars and key starters.

Building long-term is happening now.
This. Mostert has had some issues staying healthy and he might just price himself out of range next off season. For this season though, we have an incredible stable of backs between Mostert, Wilson, Gallman and Sermon. Not to mention you can keep Hasty on the practice squad as insurance. Solid planning. Loving the Niners draft so far!

Honestly surprised that Shanahan picked him. Feels like he lacks that top end speed that he's obsessed with.

You can see the crafting of our offense with Lance.... Whom brings both the speed and power game (in tight/important situations of course).

Shanahan got a guard and a RB that should compliment the latter style. In short yardage are you worried about the power back, or are you worried about Lance?

Kyle's clearly been in the Lab.

You mean the one where the defender comes in with a clear shot at Sermon and he jukes him to take a clear loss play for a substantial gain?

Totally not impressive...
He has elite level burst and can make people miss. Interesting running style change from what we've seen over the last few years we're it's Mostern and Breida looking for a seam and turning on the jets.
