Agreed, he's legit talent I just didn't see the need to give up all that on a guy that might not even be active this year

I agree. We could've got a cb edge or slot wr instead.

Watching Sermon highlights and is it just me, or does he remind you of a taller Frank Gore?

He really does.

Not at all.

My comp for him is Melvin Gordon

At 215 he ran a 1.49 10 spit 👀
6.84 3-cone 👀

Thanks NY I was looking for that 10 yards split. How is he compared to the best running back's in this class or even the NFL?

They won this game his his back. Fields was garbage in that game.

Yep. Watched that game. He absolutely dominate. Fields was garbage that game. He was why they won.

Good pick other than I thought we would not consider RB until day 3 or later. See how he does in the NFL. Promising.

One thing you can guarantee with this regime is the second they move back to accumulate more picks, they're itching to give more away to move up.
And there´s also one sure thing, it´s that this Oscar guy will post on twitter to say how stupid the trade up is because picks, value, pff, yadi yada.
Never forget that this guy wanted to trade down in 2019 and not draft Bosa.

I thought they would take Najee Harris with a trade back in the first round and I was on board.
So I have no problem with a trade up for Trey Sermon.
Really good RB. Another player that can break tackles.

I love this pick. Especially paired with the addition of Banks at RG. Inside zone, power gap, he's a versatile runner who hopefully will prevent the Niners from being compelled to overpay to keep Mostert in 2022.

Lol penny pinching over Mostert when we have thrown away 100m on garapolo and ford over the the 3 years who have provided exactly 1.5 healthy man years between them.

John Lynch said, "...we got bored." LOL

But you're right too.

So he's not active on game day

I see three active. Mostert, Wilson and Sermon.

And Juice? Nah dude one of those 3 aren't active

Just take it as the depth chart.

Juice
Mostert
Wilson
Sermon
Gallman
Hasty

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's named the starter out of camp. If so, he'll be a legit OROY contender.

After Trey Lance of course.

LOL!
Let's pump the brakes here! Mostert is ELITE (though tending to be injury prone). This guy has nowhere near Mostert's burst or speed. And he hasn't taken an NFL snap yet.

Really didn't think that this was a position of need. RB was one position I though the team was set at. Three solid guys already on the roster. Competition never hurts, and he'll possibly be quite good. But the team needs shoring up in more critical areas to be squandering draft choices on luxury picks. Very thin in the defensive backfield. Edge. Even OL.

Still . . . now that it's water under the bridge, I hope he balls!

Mostert is not an ELITE RB. Not even top 20.

Wilson Jr is better.

Where's hasty?

Back to the practice squad if he's lucky.
Being honest, I don't really follow college closely and I had no idea who this guy is.

But watching film on him, he seems to never give up and never accept going down. Always making this second, third, and fourth efforts to break and evade tackles. Even when it seems like there's no way to avoid going down, he will still make the effort to keep getting more yards.

94th percentile in the NFL 👀

I get that but you can't have them all active for game day. Usually it's two RBs and Juice. So spending multiple picks to get Sermon means he's active game day imo.
