I get that but you can't have them all active for game day. Usually it's two RBs and Juice. So spending multiple picks to get Sermon means he's active game day imo.

It should be an open competition at RB. Winners get to play. Losers wait until one of the winners go down with an injury.
I like the fact we went for a running back earlier than expected. The late round/UDFA guys work really well for us, but adding a quality player makes a lot of sense with how this team is put together. So much of the offensive game plan revolves around a successful and dynamic run game.

I'd liken it to the Pats adding Moss. With Brady, you can win super bowls with the likes of Hogan, Edelman, Amendola, Lafell at WR, but when they got prime Moss on the team, it went to a different stratosphere as a passing attack. Hopefully, in Sermon we've added a top tier running back to the mix to make us even harder to stop on the ground.

Not sure I like the pick.

You mean the one where the defender comes in with a clear shot at Sermon and he jukes him to take a clear loss play for a substantial gain?

Totally not impressive...

ya look at the balance. He regains his balance and then is able to complete his run
I love the fact we are trying to get top talent and not relying on what's leftover and getting the most out of them.
He looks like a clone of Mostert. But has more wiggle. He seems to have a natural combo of vision and lateral movements. Where Mostert sorta learned his way into it. Good balance, not easily tripped like Breida.

Unless he gets into trouble, they gonna ask him to stop wiggling and just go lol

I don't know, I haven't seen that one.

The highlight I'm referring to is the one above. It's the one where he runs through a sideways arm tackle by the defender and never fully recovers his balance. Seems like a pretty standard run in the NFL to me. Not bad, but not great either.

p.s- notice at first contact he's already running away from impact, not into it. I'm glad our new RBs legs are stronger than player 99s biceps. Btw, where did player 99 get drafted this year?

Yeah if mostert ran 4.6s instead of 4.3s

That's not at all what happened -

Watched all the clips I could find. - not bad, but reminds me of Coleman who I wasn't a fan of

Not sure I like the value there - moving up to grab

I generally don't like tall backs - prefer low center of gravity whether shifty or power

Admittedly I''m not excited, but also not saying he's trash.

edit: Forgot to add his college career gives me pause. Apparently he couldn't get playing time at Oklahoma so he transferred to Ohio. Had the same problem until he had a couple of good games. Had one amazing game against Clemson, which is promising, but I'm not hanging my hat on it. I hope KS is right.

Yeah, when I compare RB style, I always compare their speed lol

Injuries may be impacting the draft, niners "needs" seem to align with how many injuries the position had. QB, IOL, CB and RBs were revolving doors.

Bobby Turner can cook with bad ingredients and make a good meal, but give him some fresh ingredients so he can cook gourmet food.
