Melvin Gordon 2.0

He's explosive just doesn't have that long speed. He's got great contact balance like Gordon. I'd say he's a better pass catcher (coming out of college) Good feet like Gordon.

That's a great comp. Like it a lot.

Yeah I love the pick. Wanted Williams, but also had sermon right behind him. I felt there was no way we were rolling with Mostert and Wilson this year and boy am I glad the Niners agreed.

This is an all around back that can play any system, it looks like. The Alvin Kamara comp really looks good. Kyle plus Trey Trey is going to be something special.
I know the Lindy's draft publication had a comparison to Kareem Hunt. As long as there's no Hunt character issues, and I'm pretty sure there isn't, that's doable as well.

i think becuase now our roster is pretty talented we can afford to make "luxury picks"

HIs Oklahoma film is fantastic. I like the Demarco Murray comp. It will be interesting to see how he is used considering he has been in a read option offense his entire college career and we certainly drafted as if we are moving in that direction.

Watched this whole video, understand why everyone talks about his balance and vision, I'm excited.

When he transfers to Ohio in the video I can't help but see Fields running 30 yards up the field to throw blocks, that was f**king insane and makes me more of a Fields fan.

I watched his 2020 highlight film and I see a little Frank Gore in him. Strong runner hits the hole fast with good contact balance, but doesn't have the breakaway speed to take it to the house every time. In conjunction with the guys we already have, the Niners run game is going to be awesome.

Funny I was thinking Marion barber
I love how he runs. Quick and reckless and when he sees there will be contact he goes to make the other guy pay for it. Great hands too.
I confess to not liking the pick at the time. Especially giving up an extra early 4th pick to move up. Felt we needed to shore up other areas first. Slot receiver. CB, etc.
But I'm warming to the pick now. Especially as their other backs are all on one year deals. The team cannot afford to be held hostage by Mostert again. The way that played out in public did leave a bad taste.
I don't think that the comparison to Kamara sticks. I sense, Kamara is faster.
I know I'm crazy but watching him hit the hole reminds me of Frankie

yes reminds me of frank gores college highlights after his acls he lost his top gear but was shifty with great vision and had all the tools for a great running back like the stiff arm only thing is sermon doesnt posses the top gear but he has incredible balance and looks like a ninja turtle trying to hurdle people while off balance which is so incredible
