Frankie! Man I miss that guy. He should be on our coaching staff after this year if he doesn't play somewhere else.
You know I've been saying Melvin Gordon 2.0 but another guy he reminds me of is arian foster. Very similar skill sets and running style.

I see many saying "but secondary!" forgetting that you need to go BPA. You don't just draft a DB just because you might need one. I rather us sign a vet FA than reach for someone who isn't close to Sermon on our board.

That sounds great, until you are starting your 5th and 6th corners and some guy you picked up off the street yesterday. Like we did last season. It should always be BPA while looking at need groups first. As far as vet FA, there isn't a whole lot left out there right now. And we don't have a lot of money left to spend.

Same could be said for RB. Offense was totally different without Mostert. Can't fill all the needs. And they picked up a corner.

Man Gore's vision was otherworldly...
I actually like this pick a lot. He plays much bigger than his size IMO. He's a thumper and a banger. He gives us an alternative to what we normally do. He can help in short yardage and goal line and be a power back. Something we don't currently have. He also has pretty good short area quickness and acceleration. But not long speed. He has good stability on contact and doesn't go down easily. I think he will help us.

No offense to you but why do people keep posting this guy? I have no idea who he is. Is he a radio show host or just hot take 49ers guy?

As best as i remember he was a poster here, actually might have been a Mod. I could be wrong on this, but i think he got a start in journalism by writing articles for this website.
Went to same HS as Jerick McKinnon

This is an all around back that can play any system, it looks like. The Alvin Kamara comp really looks good. Kyle plus Trey Trey is going to be something special.

i think becuase now our roster is pretty talented we can afford to make "luxury picks"
It may be just kind of rookie crop this draft had. I know edge rusher was a weak crop this year according to the draft guys, and its the first RB drafted since Joe Williams in 2017, and Kyle's been able to pick up UDFA RBs which is so surprising to me. Kyle must really like this guy to be drafted that high for his team.
Maybe he's a bit of a luxury pick, but we don't really have anyone signed beyond next year (not sure about Gallman). We needed to invest a little in the position and I think we came away with one of the top RBs in the draft. If he would've put together 2 years of tape at OSU we had probably been talking about him in the #25-50 range.

Mitchell, on the other hand, looks like a practice squad guy. I feel like Mostert, Gallman and Wilson are auditioning to get an extension. We'll probably resign one of them to pair with Sermon moving forward.

Should be good in snow games which translates to good power back

Saved Fields ass in the championship game. 331 yards.(breaking an Eddie George record)A game OU was loosing at half time
OU lost that game if not for Sermon

He followed that up with 254 total yards against Clemson. Gets hurt on the first drive of the national championship game.
To bad Fields crapped himself against Bama

I actually find our last pick, Elijah Mitchell to have a one cut north-south style that is far more similar to Arian Foster's than Sermon.
