whatever happened to the one poster that was on T Coleman's nuts? Dude thought he was amazing and would argue for days in favor of him? Excuses left and right...I haven't heard a peep from him?

Lol they all disappear man. I still want to hear back from the Solomon Thomas "best run defender in the NFL" guy.

I wonder if Sermon would be drafted in the first round if this were 15 years ago.

That's a good question. The homer in me says no question

15 years ago we drafted Frank Gore third round. Hall of Fame back
It's about time we trade up to grab a player that has fallen further than expected rather than trading up to pick up a player that no other team was even considering.

That's such a homer take by Lombardi. Sermon doesn't have top end speed similar to Kareem Hunt. He's got 1 gear, which is a super fast initial burst to make the first two line of defenders miss. However, he doesn't have breakaway speed.

That's okay. Tape don't lie. That was the only "fault" of Frank Gore. There's no reservations for having a back that can tire defenses out via an inside zone game and then have other backs keep the D honest with outside zones.

And then you add a dangerous mid-range passing game AND a dual threat QB....phewwwwwww. This is the offense Shanahan envisioned all along.

That's only because of his knee injuries.

Yeah I don't think Kareem Hunt is a good example of a player with top end speed. He's a great back but not a burner.

That's fine by me. Mostert has enough top end speed for both of them. I remember one year Gore led the league in 20+ yard runs. I'm fine with a guy that can regularly break those big runs, even if they don't take it to the house.

If he's explosive and elusive in the first 10 yards, that's good enough for me lol. Maybe Kyle could use a back that doesn't take it to the house often so that it milks the clock instead of giving the opponent too much time...

8 yards per carry every carry.
Top flight speed is a little overrated for rbs. Good footwork and vision is more key. It might be me growing up watching gore but I rather have a rb that can constantly get 8-15 yards then someone that is capable of getting 80 yard tds but not gain much after.
