And that's what rookie RBs have a hard time getting adjusted to.

He didn't look great in that regard

For what its worth, one of the niner podcasts (think it was the Chapman guy) was saying how good Sermon is in pass protection.

It's rare though for RBs to be good at pass blocking right away, even if they were good in college.

Most likely hes gonna get a mix of 1st and 2nd down plays, maybe be out there on 3rd down, but not if it's a play that requires the QB to be under center.

WE didn't draft a RB in the 3rd round to be a blocker.. if we needed that we should just move our blocking TEs in the backfield to block...

I believe Sermon was drafted because he showed some skills as well as the fact that Wilson only signed for another year.. if he moves on, then we have

Sermon, lets just hope that he can play..

As a RB, if you can't pass block you become one dimensional. You very much do draft a rb 3rd round to be able to pass block so they can be a well rounded RB.

I get it and don't get me wrong, if we can land a player that can do multiple jobs then it's a jackpot.. but I'm hoping that we drafted Sermon first, as a runner, then 2nd as a GOOD blocker..

... and since KS drafted him in the 3rd, he best be a runner ...

Sermon will be the best RB we've had since Frank. Book it.

The play action pass, which is a big staple of Kyles offense demands that the RB be very good in pass protections - specially against 7 step drop type plays.

Kyle usually hasn't drafted RB's this high since Joe Williams in the 4th in 2017. This guy must have something special. Hopefully he has the fire that Joe Williams was missing in 2017.

That shouldn't be hard, other than Mostert, most have been meh.
I'm predicting he's the starter second half of the season. Or at least starts leading the team in touches.
Lol wow. Crazy when I was here I talking this guy up predraft there were tons of fans here saying that Fields had absolutely no talent whatsoever at OSU even though this guy here literally carried Haskins err I mean Fields to the Championship. Now people are comparing him to all time greats and that he'll be the starter.

Not a big deal and I'm tooting my own horn but its funny nonetheless. The lies people will come up with to hate one guy yet excuse the next.

Breida was solid for a while as well.

Yeah, I liked Breida too.
I just hope he has that perfect balance of speed and power where his burst forward isn't so fast where the collisions present a high injury potential like Mostert and Wilson. Those two go full speed ahead into some serious punishment.
