This... between him and Mostert were going to have a hell of a 1-2 punch, Sermon isn't Gore, but I loved seeing his ability to push forward and make positive plays, hes a strong downhill runner and we need that in this offense.

Yeah. Thunder and lightning.
He lacked a little quick twitch/burst in the eye test. It just makes me slightly nervous.

For a 3rd round RB that we traded up for he was disappointing. Lets hope he gets better fast. Kyle has had bad luck drafting RB's.

He was outplayed by Hasty who is a fringe roster guy. He needs to be better. I suspect his production will improve with Lance's designed QB RPO's

Hasty played versus 3rd stringers, let's try and have some context please.

Ya.....and step away from the panic button.

Sermon looked good against Chiefs 1st and second team defense, especially with our 2nd team OL out there and really vanilla run plays called.
He looked good against the KC 1st team D. I'm excited about his play if he can stay healthy
I was disappointed in Sermons play honestly. Wasn't up to what I am used to seeing from the position under KS.
You guys are weird.
Some of you folks just cannot consider the context in a given situation.

I'm guessing this wasn't a popular draft pick... The criticism seems harsh.

Got to remember he'll have bigger holes to run through with our one's.
I think he ran a little careful but who knows, he is a little bigger and could have that deceptive speed. A lot of backs that don't run herky-jerky have that. But I hate that in a RB. Shaun Alexander comes to mind. Dude looked slow but was always beating defenders to ruin their angle.

Let's hope he shows a little more explosion. PS game 1, he didn't seem to be looking for a TD and seemed to settle for the 4 yards.
Yea he just looked slow. Probably just jitters.

He is slow ran a 4.6 forty. He is not going to be a home run hitter. He always falls forward and he is going to churn out a bunch of 6yd runs and he will have at least 3 catches a game. Not a big fan of the pick but I believe he will be a solid player.
As some others said context really does matter. Dude was up against a super bowl teams first string d running behind our second string o line. I saw enough to justify the draft pick. Shifty and powerful. Going to be hard to center up on and get him to the ground quickly. Picked up a blitzer in pass pro and we know he can catch the ball. He is not your hit the hole and break it for 80 guy but if that is your bar then you would be disappointed with probably the bulk of nfl starting running backs.
