RB Trey Sermon

The only game I previously paid attention to him was the Clemson game. But watching his highlights now, I feel like he might be an early second round or late first round talent, and we got him in the third. Steal, IMHO. Dude is like a fast, agile bowling ball.

so qfter this pick i get the feeling we will resign sherman and trade for julio

Sounds like something they would do.
We were starting guys off the scrap heap last year because all our starters kept getting injured. We need some good RBs who can also stay healthy. Tired of these Breida, Mostert types who have tons of talent but are glass canons. Keeping my fingers crossed on Sermon, because he could be a beast in a Shanahan offense... also, we have struggled with short yardage gains, and he and Galman can resolve that.

Lance and Sermon are developing for the future picks.

Ok. This was dumb. Turner gets us starting quality udfa. We don't need to draft rb's. If he doesn't run 4.3 he's not touching the ball. Mostert hasty wilson will take us to the super bowl. This makes no sense based on we need another OL and edge since we will get zero snaps from ford this year.

Even Mike Shanahan spent earlier picks on RBs. Sometimes just having a guy that is passable like Wilson, just isn't enough. I'm not mad about this pick, Sermon is a great scheme fit and a monster in the open field.

This. While you can get by with guys like Olandis Gary, etc, its different when you get a talented player in there. If Mike had his pick between a Gary, Droughs, or Anderson and Clinton Portis, he's picking Portis. Id assume Kyle is the same.

Sherm must be coming back

No one else wants his slow butt so he backed up and said he hasn't ruled out a return.

Am I trippin or does he look like kamara when blowing up defensive players, using his hands, and bouncing off players like a pinball . All while actually looking agile and shifty with great balance
Okay a weird thought just occurred to me:

In 2005, our draft went like this:

QB Alex Smith
RG David Baas
RB Frank THE TANK

2021:

QB Trey Lance
RG Aaron Banks
RB Trey Sermon

Coincidence? Or are we exercising demons?

Hope the QB works out a lot better this time.
This team will be so physical!!
Sermon is a great back, but RB should not be the priority in the 3rd when we need quality depth at CB, WR and TE. Whose gonna start at CB next year when Verrett, Williams and Moseley leave; and we have no No. 1 and 3 picks?
The guy averaged 7.5 yards per carry. 7.1 the previous year.

I recognize it's always better to have a stud who knows what he's doing -- my point is we are a need-driven team team right now. Big holes to fill. We can't waste picks on nice-to-haves when compton and mcg are impersonating the turnstile twins and our $20m dollar investment at left edge can't roll over in bed without an application of morphine. We need meat and potatoes not creme brulet.
