How do you pick this guy in the 3rd and Mitchell in the 6th?

Why pay McKinnon and Coleman a bunch of money? Shanahan confuses me on his approach to RB's. He's shown that with Bobby Turner and this scheme that you can find productive backs pretty much anywhere. I think it makes more sense to draft one or two late in the draft each year as well as bringing in a couple UDFA's to see who steps up rather than making large investments at the position in the form of money or high draft capital.

Agreed.

Yup. I loved when they drafted two RB because it was a need imo and it certainly proved well earlier on this year, but to get no snaps confuses me.

It's not looking good when Kyle goes out of his way to share why he thinks Mitchell is "made of the right stuff" to the news media while sermon literally only sees just 2 snaps on sunday.
He's just getting outplayed by Mitchell. Thats it. It is what it is.

He will probably get reps at some point because our RBs are brittle and will miss time from injuries

This, Mitchell is a beast but I don't like how he runs him so much and doesn't at least give him some run. Mitchell already is dealing with a minor rib injury after the game

I was thinking the same. I guess he's our backup to the backup especially after Wilson comes back. Not sure what happened to him after he came back from the concussion.

I'll agree with this approach...AFTER we draft Devon Achane in 2023

To be fair, there was a hope that McKinnon was going to be this gigantic threat in the pass game as well... and then two major knee injuries.
Agreed on Tevin Coleman though. I feel he was a solid running back that took carries away from more dynamic options. I imagine he got a lot of gametime though because he was trusted as a veteran.

Yeah, I typically don't question draft picks within Year 1, but drafting a RB relatively high is a head-scratcher. I think perhaps it just hurts more because Elijah Mitchell in the 6th so far is one of this draft's great steals.
Who??

Is Wilson playing this week?

they already have our ex RB McNichols. And why dump Sermon in year of a rookie contract when he's barely seasoned at all? That's what dumb teams do.

Dumb teams draft players like Sermon to begin with. There was no need drafting a RB that high, especially If they planned on drafting one In the later rounds too.
