Mitchells averaging 5.5+ running through the same holes and behind the same line and he is not the second coming of Barry Sanders he is just an average NFL back.

This dude's averaging 4 which is barely staying in the league when the lanes are massive. You put sermon in another team behind another line and he never plays another NFL snap.

The line isn't that good. Mitchell is awesome but with more carries, I am confident that Sermon's average would go up.

And I am confident it would go down.

Yeah but my confidence is better than your confidence.

So there.
I am confident that Sermon will get his opportunity next season. Along with Banks and Lance. Those 3 were drafted with the future in mind and a change in run scheme.

Yeah, definitely Sermon since Mostert is probably gone next year.

it's dull.. if the guy is not injured, then play him...

if he sucks, then why didn't we cut or trade the guy?

I just don't get why KS likes to hold on to players that he has no plans of using..

9moon, the reason he was drafted is because, our backs kept getting hurt. He'll get more opportunities next year, since Mitchell has locked up the starters gig this year.

NO argument about Mitch, but dang, KS gots to give Sermon some carries...

If KS can design a play for his FB to run a 12 yard and out pattern, I'm sure he can design a simple Sermon Screen every other game.

his GIMMICK OFFENSE is pathetic..

We got half the season - things can change quickly. He should get more touches moving forward.

Not really. The offensive line was struggling to run block the beginning of the season. Why? I believe, Shanahan tried to install two different run schemes over the summer instead of focusing on one. When Trey Lance takes over the starting role, I believe the offense will focus more on the inside zone which plays to the strengths of the three players that I mentioned.

Also, Sermon needs to improve his pass blocking - that's a must for a Shanahan RB.

I agree with that. That is probably the single most important aspect of a pro style offense that a rookie rb needs to learn.
