Who knows, maybe Sermon had something going on behind the scene that he was dealing with his rookie year.
Maybe seeing UDFA in Mitchell succeed in Kyle's system lights a fire under his ass to come in ready to take on a bigger role.
Mitchell was a 6th round pick.

We will see what the kid can do....I wasn't a fan of the pick (with the move up) but that's just me. I remember watching the draft war room video with they took Sermon and McDainels was fist pumping. You could tell that was his dude.

I was hoping like hell for Khalil Herbert. He and Mitchell would have been damn awesome together.

Agreed, message sent. In no way is he done, but he's going to need to come in and work hard. Some guys need a little extra motivation. The team putting you on notice is a good way to do that. With the way this offense chews up rb's we need all the good rb's we can get.
