Richard Sherman misread the free agency market

As I see things, Richard Sherman left the 49ers because he valued himself more than they were willing to pay. They were probably willing to pay him the vet minimum. He enter free agency expecting to have a lot of suitors that didn't appear (probably doesn't help that he doesn't have representation). Now, he would be happy to be taken back by 49ers or Seattle. At least in the case of the 49ers, there doesn't really seem to be any room for him after they drafted 2 CB.

Went from cocky to desperate real fast. I'd only want him to coach up rookies. He's done at CB.
What a clown
Time for him to convert to safety?
I think he knew what the market would be, and he knew he did not have much left as a player. So, when he said he didn't think there would be enough money left for him, he likely knew that he wouldn't be worth much more than the vet minimum on a "prove it" contract with incentives.

He is one of the smartest guys around. He knows how to play the "game" to make the most of a situation. I would be surprised if he does not receive an offer during the TC/PS period...and takes it.
He still thought he was in his prime. Good for him for his confidence but he's nowhere near the same player. He's replaceable as far as skill set goes, his leadership though would be nice to have

Pride can blind even the smartest people.
I feel like the 49ers want to move in a schematic direction not ideal for his skillset. He'd have to be a back up.

Not at all. 0 chance the almighty Moseley beats out Sherman. That's a good one. Sherman would certainly give up 14 catches to Hopkins right?

They are gonna mix in some man at times and more blitzes, but cover 3 wide 9 is still our bread and butter.
He may have misjudged the market, but his contract was up so he was going to be a FA regardless.

Is his leadership on and off the field enough to justify a contract which pays him above what his on the field skills merit? I am skeptical on this.

Still would love to have him if the 49ers' organization feels we need him, and of course if they can come to a fair agreement.
