Why is this a new thread? There's already a Sherman thread and this adds nothing new. Merge

As annoying as redundant threads are to you, hall monitors (non-Mods) are annoying to me.

This. Problem is we don't really run a FS position.

It's just the same guy. He started a bunch of threads leading up to the draft. I normally don't care but when it's the same person I eventually have to call it like it is.

They used to run single high safety but it's been said that they are moving more towards cover 2. I'm not exactly sure where I've heard that but it's been talked about in some of these threads. Probably the actual Sherman thread.
All the posters that think you can just move a slow CB to FS are trippin. Especially if they're continuing to implement the single high FS. Speed and side line to sideline range is necessary in that scheme. So how would a slow CB who lacks range fit the bill? Plus Sherm isn't known as a big hitter/ sure tackler.

He doesn't have "it" anymore. Probably need more PED's. The supply Seattle gave him a while back is gone.

He's slow and can't tackle

He may have misjudged the market, but his contract was up so he was going to be a FA regardless.
Is his leadership on and off the field enough to justify a contract which pays him above what his on the field skills merit? I am skeptical on this.
Still would love to have him if the 49ers' organization feels we need him, and of course if they can come to a fair agreement.
I think it would boost the secondary's morale to have him back in the locker room but it's iffy to to throw him back out there in the starting lineup he was still good last year but did seem to take a slow decline
