Lee had back to back good seasons with Blake Bortles as his QB. His talent has never been questioned but his durability has.

Durability should be the only mark that matters.

Forget you bro. I'm on 4 major shoulder injuries, two surgeries with a bum knee. Just waiting for Lynch to call my fragile ass. Don't come after my dream!

Bleh Bortles?? Never heard of him

Nice. He seems like someone with Bourne's skillset. Can line up outside or slot. Doesn't do anything great, just a solid 'do-it-all' type. If he's back to his normal self, he has a legit shot at the 53 imo.

No question!

If healthy, he is an upgrade over Bourne. He also is a upgrade at punt returner. This guy won me my fantasy league one year with Bortles throwing to him.

This is a good cheap veteran signing and he can be our slot at least until somebody else emerges or he gets injured again. He's very solid and he can return punts and kickoff's. We must remember he did very well on Jacksonville considering he had Blake Bortles and Company throwing to him or shall I say not throwing to him accurately.

This. Sounds like we were looking for young cheap options to fill the WR room trying to trade for Hamilton before his injury

Exactly right. The Hamilton trade definitely showed our intentions for a versatile wr3/slot wr. I like Lee much better than Benjamin and James jr. Hurd is even more injured than Lee. Hopefully we let him return some punts and KO's too. Great at jump balls and YAC.

This dude is a street free agent that had to try out during rookie minicamp. Bourne signed a 22 million free agent deal at the start of free agency with the Patriots.

And you don't think the Patriots may have overpaid... hey, I like Bourne... but not at 22 million. and I'd take a 90 percent Lee over Bourne any day of the week.

Yup. Bourne is solid but not worth that kind of money.

Even a guy like Hyder was basically a street FA before getting paid off his big year here.

The zone as long as it's existed overrates the new and unknown 49ers over the average to above average familiar ones despite clear evidence that slaps you in the face to the contrary.

This is the best post I've seen in a long long time.

He's had 3 knee injuries. 2015,2018,2019. He opted out last season so he is 2 years removed from his last knee injury. I'm just not sure he is the same player he was when he first came out. Between 2015 and 2018 he had minor injuries to his wrist, couple.of hammy pulls and an ankle injury that had him miss some games.

If he can stay healthy its a good signing. But he hasn't shown he can do that yet. Maybe his knee is in better shape since he opted out last year but idk. I think is more of a hail Mary to see if he can return to form and lock down the slot. I liked him coming out of USC but 9 years and 3 knee injuries later IDK how effective he can be.

He had a MCL sprain in May of 2015 but didn't miss TC, 2018 is when he had the ACL and what knee injury did he have in 2019? He had a shoulder issue not a knee issue...everything I'm reading is he hasn't had a knee issues since that ACL in 2018. All those other injuries are normal NFL injuries overall.

I don't think anyone should assume he's the same dude he was pre-injury, I'm sure his contract reflect that.

For me it's gonna be the hammy stuff, he hasn't played football in some time. I can see that being an issue.

2015EditLee competed against Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns for the vacant starting wide receiver position left by the departure of Cecil Shorts. He missed the majority of training camp after suffering a knee injury and then suffered a hamstring injury that allowed teammates to surpass him on the depth chart.[39][40] Offensive coordinator Greg Olson named Lee the fourth wide receiver on the depth chart to begin the regular season, behind Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, and Bryan Walters.[41]

2018EditOn March 13, 2018, the Jaguars signed Lee to a four-year, $38 million contract extension.[31][63] On August 25, 2018, in the third preseason game, Lee suffered a severe knee injury and had to undergo season-ending surgery.[64]

2019EditOn October 29, 2019, Lee was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.[65] He finished the season with just three catches for 18 yards.

Lee was released by the Jaguars on April 20, 2020.[66]

I feel a little better that it wasn't a knee injury. I like the signing if the injuries are behind him and he can return to form. I liked him when he played at USC but he has had some horrible injury luck in the pros.

Yeah agreed...I'm more worried about the soft tissue injuries at this point. He hasn't played football in a couple yrs and had and issue with them before.
