Perplexing that we are even in a situation where a safe vaccine option is available that could effectively end the pandemic but "woke" people won't get it because they've "done their own research."
To each their own but this could give more power to players possibly. Imagine if a lot of star players refuse to take it, what will the NFL do? The NFL doesn't want cancellations as it will hurt their pocketbook even more.
If those star players get Covid, then they would have had to postpone those games anyways.

I bet nearly every one of these guys has taken a pain killing injection more than once. Those pain killers can have a long lasting effect on your body. Jeremy Newberry was going in for dialysis because the pain killer she was taking destroyed his kidneys. Noy to mention the fairly large number that have taken PEDs at some point in their career.
The NFL mandated that all coaches and support staff be vaccinated. They should do the same for the players. The league lost a fair amount of revenue last season because of COVID. They don't need a repeat of that. If some knucklehead keeps a team from making the playoffs because he thinks it's his right to not take the vaccine then the team should dump him.

I'm not trying to start a debate with anyone about covid or the vaccine, and I'm sure many on here will call me a moron or whatever, but surely there must be others on here that don't simply go along with the whole covid response atm? That is, you have valid reasons for not wanting to take the vaccine. Are people aware of the growing reports on VAERS? Yes, I know it's a minimal risk, but if the worst case scenario is death, however how tiny that risk is, why would you want to take a vaccine against a virus that has no chance of harming you (a healthy athlete in their prime)? If people need reminding, the vaccines are only approved under emergency authorization, and never in history have so many people been subjected to what is an experiment (mRNA) vaccine. These are just facts. I assume there are many many others like Deandre who are figuring out what to do.

I took the vaccine but I believe people have every right not to take it and they shouldn't be penalized. Nobody knows the long term effects of these vaccines.
it's a shame the NFL is bowing down to big govt. it's only going to get worse as these socialist gain more political power.

Players have a choice not to be vaccinated. Are you reading something else that says otherwise?

The NFL asks teams to be 85% vaccinated. It means at traning camp they'd need to have around 77 players vaccinated. And for the season, around 45 of their fina 53. Which means each roster could get around 5-8 unvaccinated players max.
Deandre, Ramsey, Beasley or any other knucklehead who doesn't want it, but are superstars, will get a pass. Players on the roster bubble and replaceable backups will be the ones getting the boot and nobody will care about it. Doubt any team will get more than 8 starters or star players not getting the vaccine.

The report is teams will start forfeiting games if unvaccinated players start a covid outbreak on their respective teams.
It doesn't matter if players believe in the vaccine or not, as soon as you hurt the NFL's wallet… you're sure to be punished very harshly.

Again. Theyre not being forced. The NFL did not say teams with less then 85% can not participate. Those teams are just going to have to follow stricter guidelines.
Please feel free to correct me if im wrong though. I dont follow every tweet put out so its possible I may have missed something.

How is that unfair? If you cant field a team because players are quarantining, what would you expect?

LOL. WTF. Conspiracy much?

Did you miss the part where civd kills people? Also age and physical condition don't matter to covid so I don't know where the "why would you want to take a vaccine against a virus that has no chance of harming you (a healthy athlete in their prime)" comes from.

So, do I get a refund if one of our home games is cancelled due to a covid outbreak?

Indeed they are not being forced, ithey are just putting all the incentives to get the vaccines.
Before it was only the unvaccinated guys would get daily tests and forced to wear masks. Now they know that, if the covid outbreak is detected, and plenty of unvaccinated players test positive, they'll hurt the entire team with a possible forfeit and no payment.
But it hasn't come to suspensions if you're not vaccinated.
