didn't get to watch any of the games besides the 49ers. So who looked the best with the small glimpses that we got to see?

I'd say Justin Fields moved the ball the best, but Trey Lance LOOKED the best.

What I mean by that is Lance showed a lot of potential to be really good.

I agree with you about Lance. I want to see him play with the starting lineup and see how he does
Fields
Wilson
Lawrence
Lance
Jones

In that order.

Justin Fields

Zach Wilson

Trey Lance

Agreed
I say Mac Jones
I'd say that fields had a pretty good debut, but it wasn't without its blemishes. I'd say that Mac Jones / Lawrence had the worst debuts. Mac Jones looks like a guy playing it extremely safe with underneath throws away from the teeth of the defense (although it's impossible to know if that was by design) and Lawrence looked like he was struggling.
Preseason ... Who Cares
Some rookies were out there to get the base riled up (Fields), others were out there for a test drive (Jones) and then some were out there to see how they dealt with not being in their comfort zone (Lance).

It's preseason, everyone has their own objectives. Pretty sure KS would love to see Lance have the worst stats if it gave him the most data to work on with him, because he knows Lance will work on it and overcome it. That's development.

I look at Fields and see a coach wanting to blow his load and save his job. Fields may be that good, but it's preseason… all it takes is one coach actually running regular season plays to win or look good. The Raye-gun offense always delivered in preseason, it just never changed when it got to the regular season and we know how that turned out.
