Face facts boys Kyler Murray is a problem. Russ we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of his reign of terror. I think the Rams window is open for another 6-12 months only. But Arizona is problems and they ain't going away any time soon.
Having one strong rival is okay. Having the entire division stacked is rough.
Hopkins having knee surgery. Out for the rest of the season. Murray gonna have to be more squirrelly

Creating this thread because I believe (barring significant injuries) this will be the best division EVER record wise, beating the 07 afc south .656 win pct

Well, it was 1/2

the nfc west was in fact the best division this season (highest winning pct. of all 8 divisions, going 40-28), but it wasn't close to the 07 afc south, that had 13-3, 11-5, 10-6 and 8-8 teams without any losing record.

BTW, none of the 3 playoffs teams of that 07 afc south advanced to the AFCCG
so, 21 nfc west is 44-29 including playoffs, 07 afc west was 43-25 (63,2)

if an nfc west wins the whole thing, it would be 46-30 (60,5), awfully close to the other division, and that division didnt even have a conference game appearance.

there is a strong case it was the best division ever
2 teams in the NFC Championship Game. What does that tell you?

It's a pretty great division.

It's not just this season.

If you look at the last 10 NFL seasons (2013/14 to this season), I think a NFC West team has made the Superbowl on 6 occasions. NFC South on 3 and NFC East on 1 occasion. Think the last time an NFC North team represented the NFC in a SuperBowl was Green Bay in Feb 2011.

In that same time period there has been 22 wild card teams, and I worked out that 9 came from the NFC West, 6 from the NFC North, 4 from the NFC South and 3 from the NFC East.

That says to me that the NFC West has generally had the better team in the NFC but also the best depth of quality over the past decade. More NFC champions and more wild card teams.
